Breaking: Mzee Charo wa Mae has passed away after a long illness, family confirmed.

The Mzee whose name has always been used to reffer to a neighbourhood died yesterday.
Many students have quite interacted with the name "kwa Charo wa Mae" when making references or as a name for a familiar residential area around the institution.

In a strongly worded notice issued today, PUSA now invites its members to detest the sheer reluctance of the Government to sought the ongoing lecturers strike.

Invoking the Article 43 of the Kenyan constitution under the broader category of economic and social rights fundamental to the wellbeing and dignity of individuals, PUSA says the reluctance of the government to solve the ongoing impasse has curtailed them from accessing education, which is a basic right, thereby glaringly infringing upon this article.

The arranged peaceful demonstration will therefore act as a presser to showcase the students concern with the ongoing indifference of the Government and to defend academic integrity.

The varsity Don's strike continues in its 6th week.

Pwani University Students fraternity today outpoured in their multitude to join the nation in Mourning Rt Hon Raila Odinga who passed away on Wednesday.

In a very sombre, melancholic and moody aura, Students assembled in a mini requiem mass with candles, his portraits and twigs to mourn the towering statesman and veteran politician whose legacy inspires many citizens.

Many students eulogising him as a consequential figure during Kenya's second Liberation and a vanguard for democracy, rule of law and justice. Emotions were heavy as many students wailed uncontrollably.

As our editor writes : For the Nation, it is a loss of an iconic and fatherly figure, but for all Students, this is a moment to reflect and continue to agitate for the values and convictions of a civilised society I.e democracy and justice which he fiercely championed for in his lifetime and to espouse on his ideals.

He will be laid to rest on Sunday at his family homestead in Bondo, Siaya county.
