This is Kenya for you and me. After spending almost four hours helplessly watching fire consume everything visible at Kisii municipal market, I'm very sure several leaders are busy preparing smooth lies this morning and come later in the day to make false promises to thousands of affected "mama mbogas and other real hustlers". A few years ago a lot of promised poor traders voted for leaders on the grounds of building a very good and conducive market for them, not knowing the land had a case in court that was a waiting case to be lost by the municipality. Many of us have been led into poverty by those who know what we don't know, they make us believe in them by using us get all they want and let the reality hit is thereafter.
We are alone Kenyans, we've lost hope in political leaders.
Ground check:
One county fire engine, did nothing by saving nothing.
Just came across one police officer recording videos, in short zero police to control crowds to avoid extra accidents
Now all the stalls are down What Next????
Children are going back to school, half term is almost over. What are the parents going to do??
Some traders had paid for business permits, everything is now ashes.
