KILLED BY A BULLET!
Bridget was only 12 years old, a child with her whole life ahead of her. She was not out in the streets, not in harm’s way. She was in the safety of her mother’s house, sitting down and watching TV.
But even there, the bullet found her.
They call it a “stray bullet"
Now, Bridget’s small body lies still. Her dreams have been cut short. Her laughter will never be heard again.
Her parents are shattered. Her classmates are confused and heartbroken. An entire village is drowning in sorrow, trying to make sense of an unthinkable loss.
As a parent, I can’t even begin to imagine the pain. How do you explain this kind of loss to another child? How do you carry on knowing such a thing can happen in your own home?
Rest easy, little angel.
