PRISCA'S TAKE HOME ON KASIPUL BY ELECTION
1.Boyd Were got votes from die hards of Ongondo Were family sympathizers,ODM and it’s machinery and most of all Gladys Wanga and her resources (gi mwandu ne yiote),weeeh!!!kudos to the team.(My question is why was it so rough to clinch the win with all that effort,resources???)I am still doing my research 🧐
2.Low voter turnout may be because we have lost hope and trust in the electoral process because of past experience where your vote doesn’t count,massive electoral fraud and fear of violence eruptions that was rumored alot in Kasipul plus not so many people will not travel on small elections.
3.I totally agree Wanga is a hard worker,my observation is she is a stubborn lady just like me😂Stubborn personality can be positive and negative.Determination,perseverance ,a go getter and full focus and strength on goals are admirable traits,on the other hand being radical,unilateral decision makers and autocratic leadership are some of the qualities people don’t like,people will see you as a dictator,others will feel left out and no sense of belonging,no democracy…people wants to be involved and consulted,in Luo they say ni achaya,in African politics it’s worse when you are a woman(mama no ochayo ji),which sometimes may not be the case.In Kasipul people whose ideology was different felt left out someone decided on who they wanted to be a replacement of the slain MP and forced it on jo Kasipul and hence the rebellion and resistance and no personal hatred to Wanga or enemnity as being peddled.She could have personal enemies but majority was thirst for democracy.
4.Both winners and losers of the election should learn that ;
a)Report card will matter.
b)Digital world matters (phones capture and direct to the public)
c)ODM ticket will not guarantee direct win,infact overally there’s a higher percentage of people who voted against ODM
d)Tingo bat orumo let people vote their choice.
5.IEBC did a better job.
