🌡️ A warm week coming up with some decent sunshine and very little rain!

Temperatures up into the 20's and possibly reaching 24 or 25°C at times!

Some nice sunny spells expected this week with some high clouds bringing some hazy sunshine at times too!

Very little to no rain for most for the working week with the exception of some showers possibly moving into the south coast at times!

🔴☀️Drier and Warmer weather expected as the schools return! ☀️🔴

Warmer air is forecast to push over Ireland as high pressure builds around Ireland from Monday as schools return around the country after the easter break.

Temperatures will rise into the twenties for many areas of the west, north and midlands, east and south coast will be cooler with the onshore breeze. It is expected to be a fairly dry week also with some good sunshine!

As the band of rain moves east throughout the day this could be followed by some very heavy and potentially some thunderstorms!

Highest risk from Limerick up to inland Connacht into the midlands.

Frequent lightning and hail possible!

☔️ More rain on the way! ☔️

Rain will push in from the west later today. This will move slowly east throughout the evening and overnight.

As this rain moved east tomorrow some thunderstorms are possible in the midlands on the west side of the rain. This rain will slowly clear overnight Friday into Saturday.

Some heavy falls are expected with parts of the midlands seeing upwards of 30mm in 24 hours based on the latest high resolution HARMONIE model.

Risk of localised flooding so please take care!

Amounts of 30mm possible in 24 hours with the south expected to see the worst.

On Friday this band of rain is expected to persist in the east before slowly clearing by the early hours of Saturday.
Over 30mm is expected to fall in many areas of the east by Saturday morning and higher falls likely on higher ground.

Localised flooding a risk so please take care!

⚠️ Flooding Warning ⚠️

Very heavy rain is expected over the next 24-36 hours which could well bring over 100mm to mountainous areas by Saturday afternoon.

On lower ground between 40 and 60mm is forecast in this time in areas. Attached is the HARMONIE DMI model showing 24 hour rainfall, this model is used by Met Eireann. Other high resolution models have heavier rain inland so we shall need to wait and see where gets the most!

Please take care as flooding is likely!

A low pressure system is forecast to push up from the south later today and will bring heavy rain to all areas tonight.

Heaviest rain in the west to begin with over 30mm in 24 hours. Tomorrow will be more persistent in the East with falls over 50mm in 24 hours on higher ground.

Warnings have been issued and can be seen at met.ie
