In 2025, we want a real GENGETONE VS ARBANTONE ŴÄŘ! Musically, sio kwa streets! We appreciate both but let’s review which genre was better.
1. DANCEHALL EFFECT- Gengetone won. Manze time ya Gengetone tulikuwa tunarombosewa club na random girls, sai Arbantone ni dances za vita k**a mapangale, na ma-style zinafit tu TikTok, ukitoka club uko Na injuries k**a Umbwa imeiba rice kwa matanga. 1/0
2. MAINSTREAM ACCEPTANCE- Arbantone won, Gengetone ilipingwa na kila mtu apart from social media. 1/1
3. SONGWRITING- Arbantone won. Gengetone was rough and vulgar. 1/2
4. PRODUCTION- Gengetone won. Arbantone wezi wa beats. 2/2
5. LONGEVITY- Gengetone won. They survived for 5 years. Arbantone mwaka moja tushaanza kuwasahau na twingine tushaunda genre mpya sijui ati “kile kienyewe”😂 3/2
6. EFFECT ON MUSIC- Gengetone resurrected the love for Kenyan music n saved us from Naija and Raggatone influence (even Bien said so, na yeye akisema, amemalo). Arbantone has watered that down, that’s why we want Gengetone back! 4/2
7. BANGERS- Every Gengetone song in their prime was a banger! Underrated genre bana! Kuna ngoma za Arbantone hua hazi hit past studio. 5/2. GENGETONE WINS AT 5-2.
So, Mimi nafunga debate kwa kusema, Gengetone was our better genre coz it defined us. However, we still need Arbantone around for competition and variety. Let’s the games begin!

Electricians have been hiding this for years! Insert the USB cable into the pencil and be surprised
Here’s an awesome DIY hack involving a pencil and a USB cable—great for small experiments or teaching moments about electricity! ⚡✨

Pencil + USB Cable Hack: Powering the Graphite
The graphite core in a pencil conducts electricity, and when connected to a USB cable, it can be used for creative applications like heating or lighting.

What You’ll Need:

A wooden pencil (with a thick graphite core).
A USB cable (an old one works best).
A sharp knife or blade.
Electrical tape.
A USB power source (like a laptop or power bank).
Steps:
Prepare the Pencil:

Carefully shave off the wood from one end of the pencil to expose about 1–2 inches of graphite.
Cut the USB Cable:

Cut the USB cable to reveal the internal wires. You’re looking for the red (positive) and black (negative) wires.
Connect the Wires:

Attach the red wire to one end of the exposed graphite and the black wire to the other end. Use electrical tape to secure the connections tightly.
Plug It In:

Connect the USB plug to a power source (e.g., a power bank or laptop). The graphite will heat up slightly as electricity flows through it.
What It Can Do:

The heated graphite can be used to lightly melt or burn small materials.
It can serve as a basic experiment to demonstrate electrical resistance.
Caution:
Avoid leaving the setup connected for long periods, as the pencil might overheat.
Never attempt this with a high-power source or flammable materials nearby.
It’s a fun and safe way to explore the basics of electricity and resistance. Let me know if you’d like to explore more hacks like this!

WHY "KASONGO" WAS COMPOSED.

His real name was Kasongo wa Kanema, died 2 years ago and buried at Lang'ata Cemetery.....

“Kasongo” has been trending but few know the story behind the song.
"Kasongo" was done by the band Super Mazembe, a congolese band that moved to Kenya in 1974. The band members had gone to visit their friend Kasongo in Eastleigh, Nairobi.

On reaching his house, they met Kasongo’s wife and they asked her if he was at home.
Kasongo’s wife welcomed them and told them that she had not seen Kasongo for days.

Back then, there was no internet and it was rare to find someone who owned a phone. They decided to send him a message through music, hoping it would reach him.

The Super Mazembe members started creating a song for Kasongo in his living room, telling him to come home because his wife is worried and she’s looking for him but can’t find him.

They went on to record the song and, as they say, the rest is history.
