Yesterday, Chief Principal Sir Cosmas Nabongolo Eulogizes Mzee Hudson.

Chief Principal Sir Cosmas Nabongolo paid a heartfelt tribute to the late Mzee Hudson, father to Mwalimu Amos Wanda, the coach of the Brown Saints Football Team JOBO.

He fondly remembered Mzee Hudson as a gentleman and a childhood friend, recalling how they grew up together and shared chiswa (termites) during their humble days.

He encouraged the family to remain strong and urged everyone to continue praying for the widow. He also presented a bahasha of an undisclosed amount as a gesture of support to the bereaved family.

In his commitment to giving back to the community, Sir Cosmas offered to support five bright but needy boys and girls with opportunities to join St. Joseph’s and help deserving girls access good schools through scholarships.

Yesterday marked the last day of Chief Principal Irungu Kamau at Highway Senior School. And he had this to say:

"My tour of duty at The Highway Senior School comes to an end today. The curtains come down on what has been a highly fulfilling and immensely successful chapter in my teaching career.

When six years ago I joined Highway, it was not my initial destination but God had other plans. I have often asked myself whose prayers God was answering in taking me to the school but the things that are hidden belong to God.We have really outdone ourselves at Highway Secondary school.

We thank God for the success we have achieved. Not only have we raised the school population, we have raised the mean score to unprecedented levels. In our talent development, we are among the best in the country. We have won trophies and awards in and outside this country.

In 2022, we not only took silver in KSSSA football, but we also took a rare silver in FEASSA soccer earning a ticket to participate in the World School games in Morocco. 2024 was our year. We won the KSSSA football trophy after for the first time ever producing the best player in Kenya by the name Humphrey Aroko.

In the same year we won the Europe Cup earning us a ticket to Romania. We also won the best school in Tennis in East Africa. For the last five years, we have been to Feassa three times in soccer and five times in tennis and table tennis.

In 2025, we were the best school in drama nationally, we took 4 teams to FEASSA winning silver in handball and also won the French play for the third year running. In 2026, we took all activities upto the national level and produced the best tennis player in Kenya and East Africa. Currently, we have a player in the U15 national football team and one going for the Youth Olympics.

The government of Burundi has formally appealed to Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni, in his capacity as the Chairperson of the East African Community (EAC) Heads of State Summit, to urgently intervene regarding the alleged harassment and forced removal of Burundian nationals living in Kenya.

The diplomatic tension stems from a directive by Kenyan President William Ruto ordering a nationwide crackdown and restriction on foreigners engaging in small-scale trade. The policy has heavily impacted Burundian traders operating in Kenya.
