James Githinji was our first Captain since the formation of our professional Squad way back 2019. Infact he was one of the first signings through our scholarship program. (This picture below was taken during Kitui Central Dr. Makali Mulu tournament December 2019 where we won the tournament. The unstoppable squad was formed during this tournament. He led the team to win the tournament & the legacy was written)

Kijana Amekula Vitabu vibaya sana. He led the team to win our first ever county league season 2019/2020 before Corona hit us hard. His striking skills will never be replaced in our Football history. His dribbling skills leaves defenders hitting the ground hard. He has the skills to score Goals in a unique way.

May God bless you & open ways for you to succeed. When our club's History is made, you top on the list of the founders of the successful team we built together.

Coach Benni McCarthy believes Kenya 🇰🇪 is on the rise, boldly predicting a spot in the top 10 of CAF rankings and targeting a top 20 FIFA ranking in the near future.

"I’ve cast the net wide — I’m looking at every player with Kenyan roots, even those born abroad," said McCarthy. "Over the past few months, I’ve identified more than 15 high-level players who weren’t born in Kenya but are eager to be part of the Harambee Stars project. My goal is long term 2027 and beyond."

He also emphasized his commitment to local football:
"Home-based players will get more chances to move abroad — I’ve got strong links in Europe. But I also want to help grow the domestic league itself."

McCarthy didn’t hold back about the challenges he’s facing off the pitch:
"I’ve got two jobs one is coaching the national team and getting paid for it. The other is cleaning up the politics and rot in Kenyan football that’s the part I do for free, for the people and fans who love this team."

He acknowledged pushback from some quarters:

Football Kenya Federation (FKF) National Executive Committee (NEC) convened this morning, with league structure reform as the main agenda. The meeting produced the following resolutions:

✅ At the conclusion of the 2025-26 season, three teams will be relegated from the Kenyan Premier League (KPL) to the second tier, with three National Super League (NSL) teams promoted to replace them. Consequently, the playoff between the third-placed NSL team and the 16th-placed KPL team has been eliminated.

✅ The FKF Division One League will expand from 32 to 64 teams starting next season.

✅A proposal to merge the FKF Division Two League with the Regional League has been introduced, pending public participation.

However, these resolutions face potential legal challenges, as experts contend that only a General Assembly has the authority to alter league structures.
