We would like to sincerely appreciate the Story Matters team and all our amazing partners for the opportunity to work together in 2025. It was truly a pleasure collaborating with each of you, and an honor to meet and learn from such dedicated teams.

Thank you to VSO, ActionAid ActionAid Kenya, UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency LWF Kenya Somalia Program, Kakuma Sound, Kakuma Cultural Municipality, URISE, House of Music, FilmAid turkana county Kenya, and all other partners who made this journey meaningful and impactful.

As we welcome 2026, let us continue working together with the same spirit, commitment, and passion—doing even more and reaching further.

Story Matters Entertainment has shown us the power of teamwork and commitment. Working together to run this behavior change activity has helped us learn more, connect with different people, and better understand our community. We hope to continue with the same spirit and dedication in the future.

We sincerely appreciate UNHCR for the support and mentorship, and for trusting us to share meaningful messages within the community. As we work on our final report, we remain grateful for the journey so far.

Her Voice, Her Power
At Story Matters Entertainment, we continue to bring teenage girls together for open conversations and safe discussions. Our space gives girls the freedom to speak with one another, share their stories, and feel heard.

During this long holiday, the girls were happy to meet and connect with each other. We talked about preventing gender-based violence and encouraged them to protect their dreams—especially their dreams for education and future success.

Her voice, her power.
We believe in creating spaces where girls can grow, learn, and lead.

Girls’ Volleyball Tournament in Kalobeyei

Today’s girls’ volleyball tournament in Kalobeyei was an inspiring gathering full of energy, teamwork, and purpose. We truly appreciate all the girls who turned up to play for change and use sport as a platform for empowerment.

As we approach the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence, this event reminds us how important it is to involve girls and women in sports and create safe spaces to discuss the issues affecting them in Kalobeyei.

As we approach the 16 Days of Activism on Gender, Story Matters Entertainment — in partnership with Refugee Basketball Initiative, and with support from UNHCR and LWF — organized a Girls Basketball Tournament to involve girls and women in this important campaign.

The tournament brought together amazing energy from both Kakuma Refugee Camp and the host communities, showing the power of sports in uniting people and raising awareness on gender equality.
