ACK St. Andrew's Church and mission center in Kabare, Kirinyaga County, was established in 1910 as the First Church by the Rev. Canon A. W. Crawford of the Church Missionary Society (CMS). He later died and Buried in the same compound, we shall post his grave in the next post.

The original mission site and older building structure were founded in Gichugu, Kirinyaga, marking the arrival of the Anglican ministry in the area.
