Today we are looking at the two heroes of Shela Masha and Miki who go door to door collecting household wastes to the respective place at Kijitoni Dumpsite where separation is done for recycling and complete burning in the only incinerator for household wastes on the island. The program of waste management in Shela is under the Shela Environmental Residents Group - SERG and Lamu Marine Conservation Trust.
