GOVERNOR TIMAMY DISTRIBUTES FOOD ITEMS TO LAMU SCHOOL FOR MENTALLY CHALLENGED IN MOKOWE
Lamu Governor H.E Issa Timamy EGH, OGW on Thursday spearheaded an initiative to distribute essential food supplies to the Mentally Challenged School in Mokowe.
Accompanied by County Government officials and representatives from the Ministry of Education, the Governor emphasized the importance of providing adequate nutrition to mentally challenged students to support their overall well-being and development.
Speaking at the Mokowe School for Mentally Challenged, Governor Timamy expressed his deep-seated belief on the importance of inclusivity and equal opportunities for all members of society.
"I am deeply committed to ensuring that every child, regardless of their abilities, receives the care and support they need to succeed," stated Governor Timamy. "By distributing food items to this school, we are not only addressing their immediate needs but also sending a message of compassion and solidarity to the entire community." He added.
The Governor also pledged a significant allocation of Ksh 1 million which will be directed towards enhancing facilities and implementing tailored educational programs to meet the unique needs of the students.
In attendance were, County Secretary Amb. Ali Abbas, CECM Education Hon. Sebastian Owanga, Lamu County Chief of Staff Mr Abdulnassir Issa, Chief Officer Education Hafswa Difini, Director Education Mr Mutwiri, TSC Director Madam Riziki Daido among others.
