President Ruto, Tony Elumelu Pledge Stronger Public–Private Partnership for Africa’s Growth

President William Ruto has emphasized the need for a strong and purposeful partnership between Africa’s public and private sectors to unlock the continent’s full potential.

Speaking at State House Nairobi after meeting United Bank for Africa (UBA) and Heirs Holdings Group Chairman Tony Elumelu, President Ruto said collaboration between governments and private investors is key to driving inclusive growth and sustainable development.

During the meeting, Mr. Elumelu reaffirmed his commitment to Africa’s progress through a $1 billion investment in Kenya’s infrastructure. The pledge targets projects in power generation, food security, and the expansion of road and rail networks.

President Ruto described the investment as a reflection of a shared vision for Africa’s future, anchored on enterprise, innovation, and shared prosperity.

Cherargei Warns Uhuru Against Meddling in Politics

Nandi Senator Samson Cherargei has cautioned former President Uhuru Kenyatta against interfering with the affairs of the current government, warning that such actions could cost him his security detail and retirement benefits.

Cherargei urged the former Head of State to stay away from active politics and allow the government to carry out its transformation agenda.

“We will withdraw your security and retirement benefits because you cannot use government funds to attack the government,” the senator said.

Cherargei further advised Uhuru to focus on enjoying his retirement peacefully rather than engaging in political activities that could be seen as undermining the current administration.
