Turkana East Elders and Residents Strongly Condemn Recent Bandit Attacks

The elders and residents of Turkana East strongly condemn the recent attack perpetrated by Pokot bandits on the residents of Napeitom. We are deeply saddened by the tragic incident that occurred this morning, where two youths traveling from Napeitom to lokori were ambushed and brutally shot dead. Several others sustained serious injuries and are currently receiving medical attention at the Sub-County Hospital.

These senseless and cowardly acts of aggression must be brought to an end. We call upon the government and relevant security agencies to intensify efforts to restore peace and security in the area, and to ensure that those responsible for these atrocities are brought to book.

We stand united as a community, and we pray for strength and comfort for the families of the departed, and a quick recovery for the injured.
