Social media influencer, Ekiru Lotabo, emphasises that for the Ekalees Centre to attain an international standard, the following initiatives are recommended:

1. Implementation of large-scale reforestation efforts.
2. Paving of major routes within the Centre.
3. Installation of a 100,000-litre steel water tank, which will also benefit the surrounding community.
4. Construction of fencing or Walls.
5. Utilisation of the Centre as a venue for generating county revenue through hosting major events such as gospel crusades, musical concerts, weddings, and other festivals, including political meetings and trading centres.
6. Enhancement of network connectivity.
7. Development of football and other sports pitches.
8. Establishment of the Turkana Cultural Archives, which will house cultural regalia, sculptures, and representations of local flora and fauna.
9. Provision of 24-hour security services.

He states that the above measures are expected to elevate the Centre to an international standard.

“Alikataa kuenda na Dufla Nairobi,” the renowned Turkana street boy who went viral last month after vibing to musician Dufla Dilligon’s trending song was once again spotted on Friday dancing to a Prince Indah track during the Tobong’u Lore Cultural Festival at Ekaales Centre.

Dressed in his signature street-style outfit, the young boy showcased his unique dance moves, drawing admiration from hundreds of attendees, including Turkana Governor Jeremiah Lomorukai.

According to a source, the boy allegedly declined an offer to travel to Nairobi with musician Dufla Dilligon, who had met him earlier and promised to support his talent. In a video seen by this publication, the boy is captured refusing to comply with members of the technical team who requested him to travel with them.

A section of Turkana residents has since raised concerns over the future of the talented youngster, who continues to entertain revelers on the streets of Lodwar town.

CORRIDORS OF POWER:
Fresh details have emerged following claims by former TUCUSA president and once–ally-turned-critic of Turkana Governor Jeremiah Lomorukai, Dominic Lotum, who took to social media to raise alarm over alleged threats to his life from an unknown number, warning him against setting foot in Lodwar.

A day later, Festus Erukudi alias Eru, the Personal Assistant to Governor Lomorukai, criticized Lotum’s statement, alleging that the outburst was politically motivated and aimed at discrediting the governor’s administration and family.

According to reports, Lotum’s sharp criticism of Governor Lomorukai, despite having been among his most vocal supporters during the 2022 campaigns, stems from what is viewed as betrayal after the election, following Governor Lomorukai’s alleged failure to accommodate him within the county administration.

Other sources further claim that the former TUCUSA president has been on the county payroll, serving as a liaison officer at the Office of the Governor. However, by the time of publication, Lotum had not responded to these allegations.

As political realignments and early maneuvering toward the 2027 elections gather momentum, Governor Lomorukai has reportedly intensified efforts to consolidate his support base. Recently, he reclaimed ODM youth leader Devis Nangiro, who initially supported him in 2022 before falling out and backing Turkana South MP Ariko Namoit.
