UPDATE: The Lokichoggio Livestock and Marketing Association (LOLIMA) have clarified that Governor Jeremiah Lomorukai fulfilled his pledge made during their economic empowerment initiative.

The members said the Governor’s support has helped expand their livestock businesses and urged political leaders to avoid misinformation and pursue issue-based politics.

UPDATE | The Turkana County Government has announced a delay in the payment of July 2026 salaries for county employees, attributing the delay to slow processing by relevant government offices in Nairobi.

In a notice dated August 10, 2026, the County Government said efforts are underway to expedite the process, with salary payments expected to be effected immediately once processing is completed.

County staff have been urged to remain patient as the process is finalized, with the administration regretting any inconvenience caused.

DEEPLY SADDENED TO ANNOUNCE THE PASSING OF MCNILL ARUMAN (ARUSHA).

It is with profound sorrow that we announce the untimely passing of McNill Aruman, alias Arusha, who died on 5 August 2026 following a tragic road accident along the Kakuma–Lodwar Highway in the Naperebei area.

The late Aruman will be laid to rest on Saturday, 15 August 2026, at Kiwanja Ndege, near Turkana Driving School.

Friends, relatives, colleagues and well-wishers are invited to join in paying their final respects and according him a dignified send-off.

May his soul rest in eternal peace.
