CCU Submits Disciplinary Report Against Kalama MCA to Registrar of Political Parties
Nairobi, October 29, 2025 — The Chama Cha Uzalendo (CCU) Party has submitted the findings of its Disciplinary Committee against Kalama Ward MCA, Hon. Boniface Maeke Musyimi, to the Office of the Registrar of Political Parties, following allegations of misconduct during the recent Mumbuni North Ward by-election campaigns.
In a letter dated October 29, 2025, CCU Secretary General Hon. Philippe Sadjah confirmed that the party’s disciplinary committee, which convened on October 21, 2025, found Hon. Musyimi guilty of sabotaging the party’s campaigns by allegedly supporting a rival candidate.
According to the committee’s report, Hon. Musyimi is deemed to have resigned from CCU under Section 14A of the Political Parties Act, 2011 (as amended).
However, the report outlines an alternative disciplinary pathway should he choose to issue a written and public apology to the party.
Under this alternative resolution, Hon. Musyimi is required to:
1. Pay a fine of Kshs. 150,000 for undermining party campaigns;
2. Issue a public statement reaffirming his support for the CCU candidate in the Mumbuni North by-election and participate actively in campaign activities; and
3. Refrain from promoting or supporting rival candidates in any future elections.
Hon. Sadjah noted that the committee’s findings have been forwarded to the CCU National Executive Council (NEC) for affirmation or review. The MCA has 14 days from the date of receipt of the decision to lodge an appeal before the NEC.
“The party remains committed to enforcing discipline, promoting loyalty, and strengthening unity among its members,” the statement from Hon. Sadjah read in part.
The correspondence was also copied to the Chairperson of the CCU Disciplinary Committee for record-keeping and further administrative action.
