What an honor it is to be here, dear wild women. ✨⁣

What is stirring within you today? What truth is awakening inside you?⁣

This Women’s Month feels like an invitation to listen deeper—to honor our inner knowing, embrace our power, and give voice to what is ready to emerge. 💫⁣

This season is calling me into deep healing and erotic aliveness, reminding me of the beauty of creativity. ⁣

Creativity is a portal—a bridge to joy, transformation, and possibility. It restores hope, expands our horizons, and invites us to shape life with our own hands.⁣

Here’s to pleasure, presence, and the magic of simply being. ✊🏾✨⁣

Learning is the fertile soil in which personal growth takes root and flourishes. ⁣

Embracing a mindset of continuous learning opens doors to new possibilities, expands our horizons, and fuels our evolution into our best selves. ⁣

With each new lesson absorbed and skill honed, we empower ourselves to navigate life's challenges with confidence and resilience.⁣

There's no magic pill to cure depression or any other mental illness. We manage mental illness. It gets even better when we make adjustments to facilitate well-being in spite of living with a mental illness.

Some adjustments are in: diet, lifestyle, exercise, support systems, therapy and routines.

"Is there a cure for depression?" Is one of the most F.A.Qs.

My thoughts:
We really shouldn't think of mental illness the same as physical illness. Truth is mental illness affects the physical body. That's why people run for pills and portions.

Yet the illness doesn't go away. The pills treat the symptoms, not root cause. This is why antidepressants don't do what big pharma claims they should. 😉

The illnesses also seem to come back repeatedly even after "treatment".

Did you know that May is Women's health month? We'll check out what women issues are often overlooked. We might also touch on the most traumatic events that black women have been through.

It's time for some really tough conversations and thoughts.

It's been quite the eventful month. Lots of awareness creation around mental health and facing social issues such as the rising cost of living, crime rates and stress levels.

Here are my reflections on

1. Be wary of people who measure a woman's worth by the suffering she endures. Because that's what misogyny looks like.

A woman's value is by virtue of being a human being. Nothing less.

2. The biggest barrier we need to break is humanising the woman and letting us exist without being boxed in.

Women's bodily autonomy and agency must be respected. Women deserve to feel safe and lead their lives as they please.

3. Patriachial capitalism ensures that the wage gap between men and women stays huge. The lie is that women aren't able to work on the same calibre as men. Yet, most work environments are hostile.

So how do they expect productivity while diversity isn't a priority?
Break the barriers by ensuring policies and laws support diversity + inclusion.

4. The biggest win we have so far is the Kenyan law recognizing that house work is actual work. As such housewives have the right to be compensated for their labour.

Imagine capitalism lied to us that there's skilled and "unskilled" labour 🥲 Tell me how cooking, budgeting, running a household is unskilled labour!?

By now you should know I hate capitalism. I'll give you reasons to hate it more and sometimes inspiration on how to reclaim what you've lost to it.

It's not enough to just learn and know. We must apply the skills/ acquired knowledge and make adjustments as we grow.

Hugs, holding hands, a descent amount of PDA are all help to meet our co-regulation needs.😍
