A Higher Calling: Raising a Godly Generation Called to raise a Godly generation & Steward them for a better tomorrow

A parent can desire a great child, but the strategy to make the Child great is not in the parent.

Monday Reflection:

Dr. Smiley Blanton says that 80% of the problems patients that come to him come because good manners were never taught to them as children. As adults they made mistakes and were rejected. They couldn't play the game of life because they didn't know the rules.

It's a new week to ensure that our children are equipped with the right tools for life.

There is need to create the right environment for our children to thrive into who God created them to be.

Today's Scripture & Prayer: Parenting Friday
Who is Shaping your Child?

Scripture
Deuteronomy 6:6-7 NLT- [6] And you must commit yourselves wholeheartedly to these commands that I am giving you today. [7] Repeat them again and again to your children. Talk about them when you are at home and when you are on the road, when you are going to bed and when you are getting up.

Reflection
Patrick Omukhango- Parenting is not just teaching the Word, but modeling holiness, prayer, worship and Service. The call to Parenting is not a passive activity that we can pick and drop when it's convenient. Everyday is a day that something is planted in the lives of our children. Everyday, we are shaping and modelling our children as a potter models a pot. We have to be very deliberate in everything we do, because tomorrow's generation is dependent on our actions today.

Prayer
Lord, we are so grateful that You have entrusted us with raising our children. Even as we celebrate parenting in many ways, we know that there is a lot of responsibility that comes with it. Help us to be faithful stewards not just in training, but also in how we live. May we be intentional in everything that we do.
In Jesus name, amen.

Today's Scripture & Prayer
The cry of our Hearts 🇰🇪🇰🇪

Scripture
Joel 2:12-13 AMPC
[12] Therefore also now, says the Lord, turn and keep on coming to Me with all your heart, with fasting, with weeping, and with mourning [until every hindrance is removed and the broken fellowship is restored]. [13] Rend your hearts and not your garments and return to the Lord, your God, for He is gracious and merciful, slow to anger, and abounding in loving-kindness; and He revokes His sentence of evil [when His conditions are met].

Reflection
Our hearts have bled. Our tears run deep.
Our nation is asking why?
Kenya has not wronged us, we have wronged Kenya. Our soil is crying over blood that has been spilt over it. It is people who are hurting people.
Even so, just like the earth called out to Cain over Abel's blood, it will still cry over those it has received before their time.
Right now we can no longer be angry, we can only plead for the mercy of God.

Prayer
Lord, our nation is hurting so badly. We have seen things we have never seen before. Lord, Father, we plead mercy. We have tried different ways, none of them has succeeded. We have no other source of help but You. Look upon us Lord, upon children who are weeping helplessly. Upon the youth whose dreams are now buried. Lord we plead for mercy, mercy alone is what will get us through this pain. Thank You because You continue to bring us comfort and we know with You on our side we can never be defeated.

Blessed be Your name forever and ever. In Jesus name, amen.

🌱 Gratitude Challenge – Day 4 (Parenting Edition)
Theme: Are You Willing?
📖 Scripture:
“Then Moses stretched out his hand over the sea, and the Lord caused the sea to go back by a strong east wind all that night…” — Exodus 14:21 AMPC

Today, I’m grateful for the grace to show up as a willing parent—not perfect, not always prepared, but present.

Moses didn’t part the sea by power. He just stretched out his hand in obedience. Parenting often feels the same. It’s not about having all the answers—it's about showing up, heart-first.

🌸 God works through our willingness, not our perfection.
🌸 Our obedience as parents plants seeds our children will one day harvest.
🌸 Delay in family growth isn’t always resistance—it can be hesitation on our part to shift, grow, or forgive.

🙏 Lord, thank You for choosing to work through us as parents. Give us willing hearts to lead our children with love, courage, and consistency—even on the hard days.

💬 Where is God asking you to “stretch out your hand” in parenting today?

Gratitude Day 3: What Are You Speaking Into Your Home?

📖 “She kept saying to herself, If I only touch His garment, I shall be restored to health.” — Matthew 9:21-22 AMPC

As this parenting day comes to a close, I’m reflecting on the quiet things we speak—especially around our children.

This woman in Scripture didn’t just hope for healing. She shaped her expectations through what she kept saying to herself. Her words became her preparation. Her inner faith made her ready for breakthrough.

🌱 As parents, our children watch how we respond in the waiting. They hear what we say out loud—and they sense what we silently believe. They’re learning not just from our instructions, but from our internal conversations.

Maybe today wasn’t perfect. Maybe there were moments of frustration, fatigue, or doubt. But even in those moments, we can begin again—with grace and truth.

🗣️ So tonight, I’m asking: — What did you speak into your home today? — Were your thoughts and words filled with fear or faith? — Are you preparing your family’s hearts for growth, even when it’s tough?

💡 Let’s choose to speak life—even in the mess. Let’s water the soil of our homes with hope, one word at a time.

👇 Share your reflection—what are you choosing to speak over your family tonight?

🌱 Family Gratitude Day 2: Bearing Fruit in the Unseen

Today, as I look at the parenting journey I’m grateful for the hidden moments—the bedtime prayers, the gentle corrections, the hugs after a hard day—that may never be applauded but are deeply significant.

🌼 Parenting often feels like planting seeds in silence. The fruit doesn't always show immediately, but every loving word, boundary, and sacrifice matters.

🌼 Sometimes, what we’re building in our children may not be understood or even appreciated right away. But if we’re following God’s leading, it is never in vain.

🌼 Be faithful in the small, unseen moments. That’s where lasting fruit begins.

📖 Galatians 6:9 (NIV)
“Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.”

To every parent choosing consistency, grace, and faith—keep going. Heaven sees you. The seeds you're planting will speak in time.

Let’s give thanks today—not just for what’s visible, but for the quiet, faithful parenting that will one day bloom. 🌼

Gratitude Day 1: The Family Gratitude Jar

📖 “This will be written for the generation to come, that a people yet to be created may praise the Lord.” — Psalm 102:18 NKJV

🔹 Introducing the Family Gratitude Jar 🔹
This week, let’s cultivate hearts of gratitude in our homes. Each day, gather as a family and have each child (and parent!) write down one thing they’re thankful for—a kind word, a shared laugh, a lesson learned, or a moment with God.

Place your notes in a jar, envelope, or even a family notebook. At the end of the week, read them together and reflect on God’s goodness in your lives.

👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 It's a simple practice, but it builds a legacy—helping our children see God's hand in the everyday.
Let’s keep Raising a Godly Generation—with thankful hearts, one moment at a time.
