Today we met strength, woven in color.
At the Ethel Foundation for the Aged, we spent the day filming a group of remarkable women whose hands tell stories of resilience, hope, and quiet power.
Each thread they wove wasn’t just for a basket — it was a symbol of independence, of purpose, of dignity restored.
Through the Inua Wazee Weaving Project, these women are redefining what aging looks like — turning skill into livelihood and community into healing.
We left inspired by their laughter, their focus, and the warmth that filled the room.
Age may have lined their faces, but their spirits are still creating beauty — one weave at a time.
