Reports from Kathiani Constituency near the Ngoleni area indicate a serious bus accident involving a vehicle known as Kitomeo, which overturned around Kaluaa Bridge. The scene has caused deep concern across the community, with several passengers rushed to hospital with serious injuries as families wait urgently for official information.

This bridge has long been a point of concern. The contractor working on the Kathiani Mitaboni road is once again on the spot for leaving the bridge unattended, creating a danger that residents have raised repeatedly. Today’s incident has renewed calls for immediate action on this road.

Happening now in Machakos.

A pickup truck has lost control along the Machakos Kangundo road and veered off the road at Massmart. The vehicle was on its way from the Kangundo side heading toward Machakos town when it crashed into a transformer, leaving it destroyed.

The driver has been rushed to hospital for treatment. Two other occupants who were in the pickup have escaped without injuries.

The County Assembly of Machakos today held a Special Sitting to swear-in Hon. Kisoi Antony Kyalo, following the Mumbuni North Ward By-election held on 27th November 2025.

Presided over by the Speaker Hon. Anne Kiusya, the ceremony was graced by Members of County Assembly and witnessed by invited guests present in the gallery.

Hon. Kisoi takes office to serve the remainder of the term after the passing of the late Hon. Gideon Kavuu, who served the people of Mumbuni North with dedication.

In his maiden speech, Hon. Kisoi paid tribute to his predecessor, honouring his legacy and acknowledging the responsibility now placed upon him.

Further He expressed deep gratitude to the people of Mumbuni North for their confidence in him and affirmed his commitment to diligent, responsive, and effective service. He also appreciated the support of the Wiper Party and the wider Kamba community.
