Bishop Joya Calls on Christians to Embrace Humility and Compassion During Milimani Parish Visit
His Lordship Hieronymus Joya, Bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Maralal, visited St. Mother Teresa of Calcutta Parish, Milimani, where he led the faithful in celebrating the feast of their patroness, St. Mother Teresa of Calcutta.
In his homily, Bishop Joya reflected on the life of St. Mother Teresa, describing her as a powerful example of genuine humility, compassion, prayer and selfless service. He reminded Christians that holiness is not necessarily found in doing extraordinary things, but in doing small things with great love, sincerity and faithfulness.
The Bishop challenged the faithful to recognise the face of Christ in the poor, vulnerable and those who are unable to help themselves, encouraging them to imitate Mother Teresa’s compassionate heart and deep life of prayer.
Bishop Joya further urged Christians to depend on the power of the Holy Spirit in their daily lives, while rejecting pride and embracing gentleness, humility, integrity and sincere dedication in serving God and others.
The celebration also marked a significant moment for 80 faithful who received the Sacrament of Confirmation, strengthening them in their Christian faith and commitment to Christ.
Bishop Joya also commended the Milimani Parish community for the development and progress achieved, encouraging them to remain united and committed to the continued growth of the parish.
