Marsabit Man Faced with Sh50,000 Bond After Alleged 'stolen' smooch backfires!

A man has been charged in a Marsabit court for allegedly kissing a woman without her consent.
The suspect, Kiya Bonaya, is accused of intentionally committing the offense on Monday, August 3, in Mountain Location within Marsabit Central sub-county.
Appearing today, Wednesday, before Senior Principal Magistrate Christine Wekesa, the suspect denied the charges.The court released the suspect on a bond of Sh50,000 or an alternative cash bail of Sh20,000.
The case has been scheduled for hearing on September 3 this year

HIJAB IMPASSE RESOLVED
Muslim learners in Marsabit County have secured the right to wear the hijab in public religious-sponsored schools following a landmark interfaith agreement.
In a tense months dialogue facilitated by the Inter-Religious Council of Kenya (IRCK), under the Chair of Abdullah Salat, who also doubles as secretary general of SUPKEM, the MoU establishes mutually agreed religious freedom for learners.
The agreement which has been endorsed by both faiths establishes guidelines for implementation through the school board of management

Two people died and four others were injured on Monday night in a road accident along the Marsabit-Segel highway after a Toyota Hilux collided with a stalled Toyota Land Cruiser. Marsabit Central police boss Beethoven Gachago confirmed that one victim died on the spot while another succumbed at the Marsabit Referral Hospital, where three survivors are still receiving treatment. This incident happens just days after another crash killed five people on the Marsabit–Isiolo highway last Friday.

**Ngurnit Senior School Commissions New Science Laboratory**

Ngurnit Senior School has strengthened its science education after commissioning a new laboratory funded by the Kenya Drylands Education Fund (KDEF).

MARSABIT QUINTUPLETS: EMERGENCY AIRLIFT TO SAVE REMAINING TWO BABIES
The two surviving quintuplets born at Marsabit Teaching and Referral Hospital were airlifted to Kenyatta National Referral Hospital (KNH) Nairobi for specialized intensive care after doctors recommended an urgent medical evacuation to improve their chances of survival.

The development comes days after the heartbreaking loss of three of the five premature babies due to complications associated with extreme low birth weight.

DAWN TRAILER TRAGEDY IN MARSABIT
Five people have been killed and another seriously injured following a devastating collision involving two trailers at Kargi Junction along the Marsabit–Isiolo Road, about 10 kilometres from Marsabit Town.

The crash occurred at approximately 4:00 a.m. when the two trailers, both loaded with beans and travelling towards Isiolo, collided after one rammed into the rear of the other, according to Marsabit Police Commander Leonard Kimaiyo.

Four victims died instantly at the scene, while a fifth later succumbed to injuries upon arrival at Marsabit Teaching and Referral Hospital.

Police officers led by the Marsabit Central Sub-County Police Commander responded swiftly, secured the scene, and commenced investigations to determine the exact cause of the accident.

The bodies have been taken to the Marsabit Teaching and Referral Hospital mortuary, pending identification and post-mortem examinations.

Commander Kimaiyo has appealed to motorists to observe traffic rules and exercise extra caution on the roads as investigations continue. A detailed police report from Marsabit Police Station is expected later today.

RARE BLESSING AS MARSABIT WOMAN GIVES BIRTH TO FIVE BABIES.

MARSABIT: A 20-year-old woman from Oltorot, Loiyangalani Ward, has safely delivered quintuplets—three boys and two girls—through a rare natural birth at Marsabit County Referral Hospital.

Hospital officials said the babies were born prematurely and weigh between 840 grams and one kilogram. They are receiving specialised care in incubators, while both the mother and her newborns are reported to be in stable condition.
