RHESUS INCOMPATIBILITY

Men, imagine a situation where your wife keeps miscarrying because you don’t know your Rhesus status.

A lot of complications start from really simple things, and this is one of them

What role does Rhesus factor play in pregnancy?

What is Rhesus factor?

What is Rhesus factor all about?

Rhesus factor is a protein that can be found on the surface of red blood cells.

There’re 4 blood groups; A, B, AB and O.

These blood groups carry either a positive or negative sign.

A positive sign means Rhesus factor is present (+). 👇🏼

A negative sign means Rhesus factor is absent (-).

On a good day, your Rhesus factor doesn’t pose any risk.

However, it rears its head when a woman is pregnant.

How so?

A woman’s rhesus status is already known, however the baby’s status can only be determined.

The fetus has its own distinct blood group and Rhesus status, inherited from one or both parents.

In a situation where the Rhesus status of the child and mother don’t match, it’s called Rhesus incompatibility.

What are the options?

Rhesus positive mom + Rhesus positive baby ✅

Rhesus positive mom + Rhesus negative baby ✅

Rhesus negative mom + Rhesus negative baby ✅

Rhesus negative mom + Rhesus positive baby ❌.

Rhesus factor becomes a problem if the mum is negative and the child, positive.

Why?

This is because, when the blood of fetus mixes..
.with that on the mother, the body recognizes it as a foreign object.

It will then try to destroy this foreign object by producing antibodies to attack it.

The antibodies can cross the placenta, to destroy the fetus’s red blood cells.

This can cause hemolytic anemia, and in..

What can be done about this?

- The first step is preventative.

Know your Rhesus status and that of your partner.

There’s a possibility of giving birth to a positive child, as a negative mom, if your partner is positive.

- The second step is taking a Rhesus Immunoglobulin.

Did you know???

Spotted hyenas have the most painful birth compared to nearly all animals? Every female has a pseudo p***s (false p***s), this is actually their cl****is. They even have a sc***um, this is their l***a that has fused together.

They have to give birth through this long and narrow thing "p***s". Just before this happens, the cl****is (p***s) ruptures. This birthing process is so difficult and painful, many first time Mothers die and many cubs suffocate to death while (stuck too long) in that narrow opening (pseudo p***s).

Do NOT overtake on the following

1) ON A BRIDGE

Avoid overtaking on bridges, bridges are dangerous places to overtake as you don't have other places to go than inside water or collide with opposing cars if other cars suddenly appear as you try to overtake.

2) ON A BEND

When there is a bend, please don't overtake no matter how clear you think the road is,it is very dangerous as you can't see the front, another car may be coming.

3) ON A MOUNTAIN

Like in a bend, mountains, hills are wrong places to overtake you can't see the front clearly and you may not be able to speed enough to overtake and avoid colliding with traffic from the opposite direction.

4) SHARP SLOPES

It is also dangerous to overtake as your brake system may not work the way you predict.

5) WHEN THE VEHICLE IN FRONT OF YOU SIGNAL IT WANT TO TURN THE RIGHT

Slow down allow it to turn or safely pass it to the left if the road allows

6) WHEN YOU CAN NOT SEE THE FRONT CLEARLY

If you cannot see the front clearly for any reason please don't overtake.

7) WHEN IT IS RAINING

When it rains heavily don't overtake because the road may be slippery and your visibility may be impaired

Avoid overtaking fast moving cars in convoy it will be dangerous to do that.
