With a theme of “Enabling Responsible Gold Mining: Bridging Innovation, Finance, and Collaboration for Kenya’s Artisanal and Large-Scale Miners,’’ the summit will help in sharing combined commitment and cooperative between the sector and the government to ensure gold and the mining sector is viable as an investment hub.
With the government of Kenya economic model of bottom up economic transformation, the PS confirmed the move to ensure artisanal and small scale miners are licenses and given permit which will be a key historic moment.
He also said the gold mining sector was collaborating with the Central Bank Of Kenya to speed up the gold processing plant in Kakamega to make it able to move the country into investing in more financial steady gold as a reserve at the main bank, instead of foreign currency which are susceptible to shockwaves.
Soon through the plant Central Bank of Kenya will be able to buy gold directly from Kenyans which will be a game changer in the sector.
