Five crew members aboard the submersible Titan were probably killed instantly in a “catastrophic implosion” as it descended to the wreck of the Titanic two miles below the surface of the Atlantic ocean, US Coast Guard officials announced on Thursday.

A large debris field containing multiple sections of the vessel were spotted earlier in the day by a remotely operated vehicle (ROV) scouring the seabed near the Titanic wreck site 400 miles south of St John’s, Newfoundland, officials said at an afternoon press conference in Boston.

“The debris is consistent with the catastrophic loss of the pressure chamber,” R Adm John Mauger of the US Coast Guard told reporters.

Search and rescue officials say the men likely died on Sunday - before military planes using sonar buoys detected what they thought could have been SOS 'banging' sounds in the water.

The victims are OceanGate CEO Stockton Rush, French Navy veteran Paul-Henri (PH) Nargeolet, British billionaire Hamish Harding, Pakistani businessman Shahzada Dawood and his son Suleman, who was just 19.

It would have been an instant death for the men, some of whom had paid $250,000 each to see the famous shipwreck.

In a gut-wrenching blow for their families, experts say there is little prospect of recovering any of their remains.

A day after content creator Azziad Nasenya walked out of an interview with Mwende Macharia on Radio Maisha, the seasoned radio host has said there is no bad blood between them.

Azziad had walked out after Mwende posed a question about the Talanta Hela Council, saying they had agreed not to mention it.

Addressing the matter in a separate video, Mwende said it was not the first time a guest had walked out on her and it is one of the things you should expect as a journalist.

She maintained that there was no bad blood between her and Azziad but she was simply doing her job.

“That’s what we call occupational hazards in journalism. They happen from time to time so it is not the first time. I became friends with an artiste who walked out of our studio the other time.

There is no bad blood with Azziad. She is a young woman and maybe the question rubbed her the wrong way but I was just doing my job as a journalist,” she said.

DJ Brownskin's father in law breaks his silence over his daughter's death.

Kenyans were on Sunday treated to a shock after a video surfaced showing the last moment of DJ Brownskin's wife Sharon Njeri alias Shadodo.

Two days later, a man believed to be her father has broken the silence, commenting on the same.

In a video , the father said it was inhumane for his daughter's last moments to go viral on social media at a time when he is still healing from the loss.
The man revealed that he was not aware of any marital disagreement between the late Sharon and DJ Brownskin until he saw the video.

"I lost my child last year and you don't even want me to heal. I am still on the healing journey and I see that video on social media," he said.

He recalled how the news of his daughter's death was broken.

"I was at work when I got a call that someone had taken poison. I was never told how it all transpired," he said.

The late Sharon's father added that the couple would visit him at his home in Kamulu with their two children.

He said they were happy people.

The father said it was wrong to allow her to take her life yet he did so because of the love she had for him.

Sharon died on July 29, 2022.

Her father has called for justice.

"I just want to be satisfied as a parent. I want my daughter to get justice," he said.

ODM leader Raila Odinga has called off countrywide mass protests.Addressing the nation from his Capital office on Sunday, Raila termed President William Ruto's statement as 'important" and a positive development.

"We acknowledge Mr Ruto’s olive branch for a dialogue on key issues raised by Azimio La Umoja. To us, this is a positive development." Raila said

" I believe that Kenya is today facing its worst crisis in decades out of which we could recover or go the way of other failed states.

Raila said they have decided to call off protests for Monday and Thursday this week to give room for Ruto's kind gesture to allow for dialogue."We want to strengthen our democracy and we want to ensure that how Kenyans vote is what the commission announce," Raila said.

"We are ready to engage and we will engage without any form of corruption and this process should start as early as tomorrow."

Raila warned that the mass protests would resume after a week if no meaningful progress is made.

Addressing the nation from State House Nairobi on Sunday, the President said he is ready to engage any leader.He said they are willing to engage as long as Ruto and his team are ready.Our position is that we want to engage our brothers and sisters on the other side on issues that are important to Kenyans, them as an opposition, us as a government," he said.

He, however, maintained that the talks must be based on sincere deliberations anchored on the rule of law.

"My door still remains open for honest, objective and sincere deliberations based on the rule of law and the Constitution," he said.He suggested a bi-partisan engagement in Parliament on the reconstitution of the IEBC panel within the parameters of the law and the Constitution.
"I urge Raila and the opposition to call off the demonstration and give bi- partisan approach for us to take Kenya forward."

Ruto said he has listened to issues raised by the ODM leader and saw it wise to back down on his hardline stance for the good of the country."I have carefully listened to the issues raised by my friend Raila Odinga. Three men accused of killing 20-year-old rapper ###Tentacion during a 2018 ambush robbery have been found guilty.

A Florida jury convicted Michael Boatwright, 27, Dedrick Williams, 26, and Trayvon Newsome, 24 on Monday after deliberating for more than a week.

All three were charged with first-degree murder in connection to the death of the controversial rapper.

Another man, Robert Allen, pleaded guilty last year to second-degree murder.

The three face a possible sentence of life behind bars.

Rapper ###Tentacion, real name Jahseh Onfroy, was shot and killed in broad daylight in Florida in June 2018.

He was visiting a motorcycle shop and was leaving when he was approached by two armed masked men who "demanded property" from him, police said at the time.

At least one of the men shot ###Tentacion during a 45-second struggle. The suspects then grabbed a Louis Vuitton bag full of $50,000 (£42,000) in cash that the rapper had just withdrawn from the bank before fleeing the scene in an SUV.

William Mayange was shot dead after protesters invaded the Maseno police line.

Anti-riot officers resorted to using live bullets to disperse the rowdy youths.

"The police should exhibit professionalism and restraint while quelling riots instead of using brutality on unarmed protesters," said Kisumu governor Anyang' Nyong'o.
