BREAKING NEWS: National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetang’ula has alleged that some Members of Parliament are abusing access to government opportunities by selling Teachers Service Commission (TSC) recruitment letters to desperate job seekers for as much as KSh400,000.

Wetang’ula is quoted as saying that he takes some MPs to State House to meet President William Ruto, where they are allegedly given multiple TSC letters intended to facilitate the recruitment of teachers into government service.

According to the allegation, some of the MPs then allegedly turn the opportunity into a business by selling the letters to Kenyans seeking employment.

The claims have sparked concern over alleged corruption and the exploitation of unemployed graduates, with calls for authorities to investigate how TSC recruitment opportunities are being distributed and whether individuals are illegally charging applicants for government jobs.

BREAKING NEWS: GACHAGUA ENDORSES KANG’ATA FOR MURANG’A GOVERNOR IN 2027

Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has endorsed Murang’a Governor Irungu Kang’ata for re-election in the 2027 gubernatorial contest, throwing his political backing behind the incumbent as the race begins to take shape.

Gachagua’s remarks appeared to dismiss Lands Cabinet Secretary Alice Wahome’s reported interest in challenging Kang’ata, questioning whether she would be able to defeat the sitting governor.

In July 1976, the Organization of African Unity (OAU) condemned Israel’s dramatic raid on Entebbe Airport in Uganda, describing it as a violation of Ugandan sovereignty. Uganda also accused Kenya of collaborating with Israel and allowing the Israeli forces to use Kenyan territory.

Kenya strongly denied the allegations. In a letter to the UN Security Council dated July 7, 1976, the Kenyan government said that if Israeli aircraft had crossed Kenyan airspace, Kenya itself had been subjected to aggression and condemned the violation of its airspace. Kenya also said Israeli aircraft were allowed to land at Nairobi only after the raid to obtain medical facilities for wounded people, on humanitarian grounds.

The Entebbe rescue took place on July 4, 1976, after an Air France aircraft was hijacked and its passengers held at Entebbe. Israeli commandos rescued more than 100 hostages in one of the most famous hostage rescue operations in history.
