King Charles III choice of Kenya among the 57 commonwealth countries for his first visit after ascending to the throne is a testament to the depth of our relations and the mutual beneficial nature of our partnership with the United Kingdom.

This symbolic 4-day visit that culminated today will strengthen the Kenya-UK historic ties that have continued to grow steadily, deeper and stronger, enabling the two countries to achieve stable progress, especially in trade and investments.

Today in Mombasa County it was once again an honour to es**rt The King when he toured East Africa's oldest Mosque, Mandhry Mosque located in Old Town, The Anglican Church Memorial Cathedral built in 1903 and Fort Jesus one of the most outstanding and well preserved, landmarks.

Together with H.E President William Samoei Ruto Deputy President H.E. Rigathi Gachagua and a section of my cabinet colleagues we bid goodbye to the Monarchs aboard the Royal Air Foirce as they departed from the Moi International Airport-Mombasa back to the United Kingdom.

A Thursday well spent as their Majesties King Charles III and Queen Camilla continued their tour of Kenya with a visit to Mombasa.

I es**rted the Monarchs from Nairobi to Mombasa with their first stop at the Kenya Naval Base in Mtongwe, where they were received by H.E President William Samoei Ruto

Witnessing an extravaganza showcased by the first-ever Kenyan Marine Commando Unit was exciting; a unit trained by the British Marines from the Commando Royal Marines with the ability to conduct specialised amphibious operations to weaken and disrupt threats by terrorists by land and by sea.

Later, at Nyali beach, the King freely interacted with ordinary Kenyans and met community organisations that promote marine conservation.

I take this opportunity to once again thank H.E President William Samoei Ruto for the honour and confidence bestowed upon me with the additional responsibilities in the Ministry of Foreign and Diaspora Affairs.

I am fully aware of the new roles and their impact on Kenya’s social-economic, political and security transformational agenda.

Kenya’s Foreign Policy will remain aligned to the implementation of the Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda (BeTA).

As we continue to advance our interests globally, we will always be guided by the quest to promote Kenya’s Economic, Cultural, and Environmental Diplomacy.

I welcome officers from the Ministry of Foreign and Diaspora Affairs to the Office of the Prime Cabinet Secretary. We are now a bigger family.

I also wish my brother Dr. Alfred Mutua every success in his new assignment at the Tourism and Wildlife docket.

Kenya will continue to work closely in diverse international fora in the push for a global peacebuilding agenda.

This has been informed by the increasing security threats and challenges that continue mutating at an alarming rate.

To this extent, there is a need for all nations to cooperate and work together in an honest and open manner.

It was a pleasure to address the Munich Security Conference held in Nairobi under the chairmanship of Amb. Christoph Heusgen; a meeting that brought together African leaders and our global counterparts to discuss ways and means of creating partnerships for peace in addressing contemporary security challenges.

Honoured to have represented the Kenyan government at the High-Level dialogue in Geneva, Switzerland, focusing on the issue of refugee management.

During my meeting with UN High Commissioner for Refugees, H.E Filippo Grandi, we recognized the need for a comprehensive approach involving all stakeholders to address the challenges on refugee management faced by host countries and communities.

As a host country accommodating over 700,000 refugees, Kenya was commended for its pivotal role in promoting peace in neighboring countries, aiming to create favorable conditions for voluntary repatriation.

Kenya is championing the Camps to Settlements concept under the SHIRIKA PLAN INITIATIVE, currently under review. We call upon our global partners to support our efforts in refugee management that seeks to empower both refugees and host communities.

During my official visit to Kigali, Rwanda today, I had the honor of delivering a message from H.E President William Samoei Ruto to his counterpart H.E Paul Kagame regarding Kenya's ongoing engagement with our East African Community Member States.

President Paul Kagame expressed Rwanda's strong commitment to formulating a collaborative strategy aimed at unlocking the economic potential of the region.

There is an urgent need to have a global conversation on refugees.

How are we going to solve the problem of refugees and we must solve it, is the question that must not tire us from pursuing our aspirations.

There is no doubt about the returns that come with investing in knowledge and research on the refugee topic.

It was a previledge to have presided over the launch of this great book touching on a topic that most would more often than not, shy away from,” HOME AND EXILE, Forced Migration and Sudanese Refuges in Kenya’s Kakuma Refugee Camp.”

Having known Dr Barrack Muluka for quite a while now, I dare say his authorship speaks to his character, that he tackles not only complex issues but also takes on unchartered waters head on.

A free and fair electoral process embodies the constitutional sovereignty of the Kenyan people and is the cross-cutting feature that facilitates the ultimate accountability to the people.

As the country thinks through the electoral law reforms for the 2022–2027 election cycle, it is key to coalesce as a people and necessary entities to make strides and ensure discussions on electoral law reforms begin immediately.

Reforms in the electoral law will ensure peaceful transition of power and constitutionalism embodied towards nation-building and state establishment.

It was a pleasure to preside over the multi-sectoral consultative workshop on post-election electoral law reforms agenda, organized by the Electoral Law and Governance Institute for Africa (ELGIA) in Nakuru.

Present were Kalonzo Musyoka, PS State Department for Parliamentary Affairs Aurelia Chepkirui Rono, among other notable participants.

The government is keen to ensure the country attains Universal Health Coverage through rolling down a promotive and preventive program aimed at detecting health issues early and managing minor ones at the community level.

Community Health Promoters will be equipped with skilled training to provide a range of health services, including prenatal care, immunization, nutrition education, and treatment of common illnesses.

During the flagging off 100,000 kits to be used by Community Health Promoters across the country by the President H.E. William Samoei Ruto , it was key to note that the national and county governments need to collaborate closely to make this program a success.

The conversation about building the Nairobi Railways City is still on track.

The visit by Madam Theo Clerk, the UK Trade Representative, to Nairobi signifies a strong commitment to unlocking key partnership opportunities and further enhancing the success of this multi-modal urban development project.

We have agreed to continue engaging with the UK government as we explore business strategies aimed at empowering organizations to grow, fostering sustainable competitive economies, and driving positive societal impact into the future.
