Katya and Olena are two different forces, united in one purpose: to protect Ukraine’s land. We met them in Kamianska Sich, collecting soil from bomb craters—testing for chemical damage to the soil.
Katya is always moving. She’s either running field research, or at the front lines, helping pack bandages and train medics. She’s quiet, intense, and always working.
Olena is more fire than quiet. She leads like a trial lawyer and moves with the purpose of a mother defending what’s hers. Her husband fights at the front; she builds the case for ecocide at home.
Together, they show us what fierce care for the land looks like—in action, in justice, in defiance.
