This week, I finished a banner redesign concept that a client asked for.

This is my week's small win

A client asked for it. No grade attached.

Just me, my screen, and a design problem I set for myself.

It's not perfect. But it's done. And done beats perfect when you're still learning.

In Kenya, we're taught to be humble about achievements. Don't post, don't shine too much; someone will jinx it.

But I'm choosing to document the journey. The small steps. The ugly drafts. The 2am "I think this actually works" moments.

Because when I look back in 2 years, I want to see the full picture. Not just the highlight reel.

What's your small win this week? Comment on it. I'll hype you up, I promise. 🙌

Last month, someone asked me to design a flyer for their small business in the Gikomba area.

I went in with all my fancy Canva skills. Gradients. Bold fonts. "Modern" layout.

She looked at it and said, "Hii haionekani vizuri kwa phone yangu."

Her phone. Android. Small screen. Data-loaded WhatsApp.

That's when I learned: good design isn't about looking good on your laptop. It's about working in the actual environment of your audience.

High contrast. Big readable text. Works offline. File size matters.

That's real-world Kenyan design thinking.

Save this. Share it with someone learning design right now.

Woke up at 6 am, made tea, and opened Figma.

Not because I'm that disciplined — because KPLC decided to remind me that power isn't guaranteed after 10 am in this area 😂

I'm still a student. Design is something I picked up because I refused to wait for a job to find me. Every tutorial I watch, every mockup I scrap and redo — that's me betting on myself before anyone else does.

This week I'm working on a personal brand project. No client. No money attached. Just reps.

That's how skills get built. Quietly. Before anyone's watching.

Who else is building something this week? Drop it in the comments — let's go together.

Your LinkedIn profile might be the reason you’re being ignored
and you don’t even know it.

Most people treat LinkedIn like a CV.
They list qualifications, experience, and hope for the best.

But here’s the truth:
Recruiters and opportunities don’t read everything.
They scan.

In seconds, they decide:

Do you look clear?
Do you look valuable?
Do you stand out?

If your profile doesn’t answer those instantly, you’re skipped.

If your profile doesn’t reflect your value, it’s costing you opportunities.

The real problem?
You don’t trust yourself yet.

You question your decisions.
Second-guess your moves.
Look outside for validation.

Because deep down,
You’re not fully confident in your own direction.

So you hesitate.
You delay.
You doubt.

But growth starts when you decide:
“I will trust myself, even if I don’t have all the answers.”

Not perfect decisions.
Just committed ones.

Because the more you trust yourself,
The less noise affects you.

And the clearer your path becomes.

You don’t need more opinions.
You need more self-trust.

Nobody tells you how confusing it is when you’re trying to quietly fix your life.

You wake up every day knowing you want more
but you don’t know exactly what step to take next.
So you try things. You fail. You adjust. You doubt yourself.

Here’s what most people don’t realize:
Clarity is not something you sit and “figure out.”
Clarity is something you build through action.

The more you move, the more things make sense.
The more you wait, the more confused you become.

Be honest—are you waiting for clarity, or creating it?

You’re not stuck.
You’re just inconsistent.

You have goals.
You have ideas.
You even have motivation sometimes.

But the effort?
It comes and goes.

One day you’re focused.
The next, you disappear.

And that cycle makes you feel stuck.

But you’re not.

You just haven’t built discipline yet.

Consistency is what creates progress.
Even when you don’t feel like it.

Small actions. Repeated daily.

That’s how things start to change.

Not overnight.
But over time.

Growth is lonely.
Nobody talks about that part.

You start thinking differently.
Acting differently.
Wanting different things.

And suddenly

You don’t fully fit in the same spaces anymore.

Conversations feel different.
Energy feels different.

It’s not that you’re better than anyone.
You’re just changing.

And change creates distance.

That loneliness?
It’s not a sign you’re doing something wrong.

It’s a sign you’re evolving.

The right people will align with the new version of you.
But first, you have to become that person.

I used to think I was behind in life.

Watching people my age achieve things faster
made me question everything about myself.

Am I doing enough?
Am I wasting time?

That pressure was constant.

But over time, I realized something:
I wasn’t behind.

I was just moving at a pace
That actually made sense for me.

Different path. Different timing.

And once I stopped comparing,
I started seeing progress clearly.

Not loud progress.
But real progress.

Sometimes, the problem isn’t your life.
It’s the lens you’re viewing it through.
