KENYA FILM COMMISSION FUNDS LOCAL FILM PROJECTS

The Kenya Film Commission (KFC), in partnership with GIZ, hosted the Co-Production Funding & Screenwriters’ Residency Pitching Event in Nairobi under the Film Empowerment Programme Cycle 4. Following competitive pitches, seven projects received funding to support story development, international collaboration, and market readiness. Winners included five screenwriting projects, each awarded KES 1.5M, and two international co-productions, each receiving up to KES 1.7M. The initiative reinforces Kenya’s position in the global film industry and supports the growth of local storytelling.
