The bush is a whole new world when you go in you come out completely different...it changes you in many ways from your perception about wildlife to understanding how tough and ugly and unforgiving a game drive can be yet still it is one of those amazing experiences that you wish anyone can live to remember long after a safari is done! I have been on so many of them but none is similar to the last one..each day out in the bush is different.. different sightings and different set of action everyday is a testimony ๐Ÿ‘Œ

I admire zebras alot because they have ability to overcome pain forget and move on; a certain level of resilience that's almost supernatural. A zebra will get attacked by a predator but incase it manages to free itself it rejoins the rest of its dazzle (herd) forgets and moves on ๐Ÿฆ“๐Ÿฆ“ The bush is not for the weak and neither is it for the faint hearted when bad things happen you dust your coat and move on..the secret is to keep on trying and keep on learning that's how you stay in the game because every industry has got its own set of rules just like any game. One thing that works for me is gathering more knowledge therefore expanding my opportunities..it is said that any opportunity favors a prepared mind so never stop learning the more you do the more value you add and the further go ahead of the pack. Comfort is temporary..it's deceiving, when you think you know it all 'sharp boys' will always try to outsmart you..stay focused..it's never easy๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚

A border point between Kenya and Tanzania on the more controlled side of the reserve known as the Mara Triangle. This section is quiet and reserved and one of the best for those classic game drives although it kinda gets lonely when you find yourself alone in the bush..sometimes even spotting wildlife becomes a challenge but most of what you get to see in the bush largely depends on luck. This is one of my favorites in the Mara whenever i have guests who want to get a closer feel of the Serengeti or even catch up with first herds of wildebeest when arriving from Tanzania or after crossing the Mara River towards Serengeti during migration season ๐Ÿ”ฅ

๐—ง๐—ต๐—ฒ ๐˜ƒ๐—ถ๐—ฒ๐˜„๐—ฝ๐—ผ๐—ถ๐—ป๐˜ a gateway to Great Rift Valley in Kenya from Nairobi a sight that welcomes you to some of the wonders that await exploration in the course of your journey..From the winding roads stretching far beyond the horizon, Mount Long'onot and Margaret towering tall as a sign of ancient natural mysteries to a thick forested cover on the escarpment floor; the Rift-valley is a living geological system whose mysterious story was carved into the earth over millions of years ago. This natural feature stretches more than 7000 kilometers from Lebanon in Middle East to Mozambique in S. East of Africa! Kenya and Tanzania are some of the countries lying along this natural wonder that gave life to wonderful geological features like lakes, hot springs and mountains found in the region...what a gem ๐Ÿ˜˜

The view of the savannah from Mara Kilima in Mara North. The camp is high on a hill with one of the best views of the Mara ecosystem below and it's also a spectacular spot to for capturing African sunrise and sunset moments. Just like the name suggest Kilima means mountain due to the raised location. This is a perfect getaway for honeymooners or mid luxury safari-goers ๐Ÿ’ฏ

This is the North Western part of Maasai Mara where the safari spirit never dies..its arguably one of the best kept secrets in the ecosystem which still brings out the authenticity of African safari experience. The area is controlled that's why it has less camps and open savannah that is barely untouched..a kind of place where you can never get enough. I have seen guests just enjoying being out there not necessarily for the sightings but just the feel of it. The take-aways include less congestion and therefore minimal noise which makes the game drives feel quite private and more enjoyable. This was the first part of Maasai Mara that I visited very first time about 12 years ago and one thing that remains constant throughout is the standards of camps with most of them being high end but offering true value from their simple yet elegant styling, just the type of escapade for a traveler looking out for the overall experience without worrying about the budget. However the only issue that is still appalling till today are neglected roads from the main highway that make driving a real headache..this kinda explains why most guests prefer flying instead of using the road. Overall, I still recommend Mara North anytime especially for safari - goers chasing 'classic elegance' ๐Ÿ‘Œ

When you spot a guest's favorite you become king๐Ÿ‘‘๐Ÿ‘‘you can even snack๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚ This was after a day long search for lions only to find a couple resting somewhere we had overlooked earlier during a full day game drive at Nairobi national park..the home of urban safari ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚

This is Maasai-Mara reserve at the border point between Kenya and Tanzania on the other side is actually Serengeti National Park. It is all one ecosystem but defined by artificial borders that are marked with these pillars. However wildlife does not care about the borders and they cross freely between either sides. The Mara is full of promise due to high wildlife numbers meaning more action. Every year between July - October thousands of herds of wildebeest make daring cross-overs across a crocodile ๐ŸŠ filled Mara River to either side of the reserve where other predators like lions await. Maasai Mara comes alive during the Migration due to high numbers of predators as they follow the migrating herds! Anytime is a good time to visit the Mara but to me nothing beats the migration especially river crossings๐Ÿ˜˜ a magical experience that should be on every travelers bucket-list..so timeless๐Ÿ‘Œ

Sweet-waters Camp in Ol-pejeta conservancy Nanyuki, Laikipia county where a famous arms dealer once ruled and reigned a man who loved the finest things in life. The 312km-sq ranch in central Kenya was owned by the famous Saudi businessman and tycoon Adnan Khasshogi! His palatial home the Ol - pajeta house is open to visitors during stay at the conservancy. The vast ranch which sits along the equator line in-between the foot-hills of Mount Kenya and Aberdares ranges is home to one of the largest rhino ๐Ÿฆ ๐Ÿฆ populations in the world. It is also home to the last two remaining northern white rhinos Fatu and Najin. A trip to Ol-pajeta comes a visit to the chimpanzee sanctuary that hosts a considerable number of chimp 'man's closest cousins' ๐Ÿ˜‚ Sweet-waters is run by serena ๐Ÿ”ฅ

It is really disheartening to see the rising cases of poaching and trade in game trophies which include live capture and relocation of wildlife. A trending video from the Kenya-Tanzania border shows a live rock python being rescued from a passenger bus en-route to the country in what
seems like a well planned scheme. A few days ago a known chinese trafficker and associates were prosecuted and fined after attempting to traffic Giant harvester ants via the Jkia Airport in Kenya. A man was also arrested in western Kenya just recently while transporting a cobra in a bicycle. On the same Kenya -Tanzania border route another trafficker was also stopped at a police barrier with a live elephant calf in the boot of a car which raised suspicion after it was spotted dangling dangerously under weight. In yet another incident a man posted a video of himself online with what looks like a small antelope (dik-dik) in his house barely two days ago ๐Ÿคฃ๐ŸคฃThese cases are disheartening, alarming and a big blow to conservation..it makes you wonder how many more go undetected. There's urgent need to review wildlife policies and also look deeper into the final markets where trafficked game ends up so that these chains can be broken. This also calls for more supervision in game parks especially where visitors engage in unguided game drives as well as in hotels and other establishments that are licensed to sell game meat since anything is possible. It's high time that authorities step up preventive measures before we see full blown return to poaching and trophy hunting. Wildlife belongs to the wild let's protect these incredible gems๐Ÿ‘Œ
