Another US utility military plane lands at the Nanyuki Airbase.

Reports indicate another US military aircraft (C-130J-30), call sign ROUE50 landed at Wilson Airport yesterday, and left for Nanyuki this morning.

The primary roles of this type of aircraft include carrying cargo, vehicles, equipment, and supplies, humanitarian and disaster relief missions, such as delivering food, medicine, and medical evacuation missions.

It is designed to even operate from short, rough, or unpaved runways, which larger transport planes often cannot use.

Kenyans are concerned that the establishment of an Ebola Disease Facility at Nanyuki airbase maybe going on despite a court order stopping it.

Laikipia tourism circuit faces economic ruin as Ebola Facility Reports trigger tourism cancellations.

Tourism stakeholders and ranchers in Laikipia are reportedly counting losses after international media reports linked Kenya to a proposed U.S.-supported Ebola quarantine facility expected to be established at the Laikipia Air Base in Nanyuki.

According to sources within the tourism sector, several tourists have allegedly cancelled planned trips and charter flights to Laikipia amid fears and uncertainty surrounding the reports.

Ranch owners now fear that continued speculation could damage the county’s reputation as a leading tourism and wildlife destination.

Laikipia is home to world-famous conservancies, luxury lodges, and wildlife ranches that attract thousands of local and international tourists every year. Industry players say negative publicity surrounding Ebola could severely affect bookings, investments, and jobs within the sector.

It is now alleged that some ranchers and tourism operators have encouraged their employees and local communities to publicly oppose the proposed quarantine facility, arguing that the project could cripple businesses that depend heavily on tourism.

Workers within the hospitality and ranching sectors are said to be worried about possible job losses should tourists continue avoiding the region.
