🚨 DEVELOPING STORY: FUEL PRICES ADJUSTED IN KENYA 🚨

The Energy and Petroleum Regulatory Authority (EPRA) has announced revised fuel prices effective from 19th May 2026 to 14th June 2026 following concerns from public transport operators over the large price gap between Diesel and Kerosene, which could encourage fuel adulteration.

📍 New Nairobi Pump Prices Per Litre:

⛽ Super Petrol – KSh 214.25 (unchanged)
🚛 Diesel – KSh 232.86 (↓ down by KSh 10.06)
🪔 Kerosene – KSh 191.38 (↑ up by KSh 38.60)

EPRA says the adjustment aims to minimize the risk of fuel adulteration and stabilize the market.

Motorists, transport operators, and households are expected to feel the impact differently, with diesel users getting some relief while kerosene consumers face a sharp increase.

🚨 BREAKING NEWS: New Fuel Prices Announced in Nairobi 🚨

The Energy and Petroleum Regulatory Authority (EPRA) has released new maximum retail petroleum prices effective from 15th May 2026 to 14th June 2026.

📍 Nairobi Prices:

⛽ Super Petrol – KSh 214.25 per litre
⛽ Diesel – KSh 242.92 per litre
⛽ Kerosene – KSh 152.78 per litre

Price Changes:

📈 Super Petrol has increased by KSh 16.65 per litre
📈 Diesel has increased by KSh 46.29 per litre
➖ Kerosene price remains unchanged

EPRA attributes the increase to rising international fuel costs, with landed costs showing:

📌 Super Petrol up by 10.00%
📌 Diesel up by 20.32%
📌 Kerosene up by 1.59%

To cushion consumers, the government will use approximately KSh 5 billion from the Petroleum Development Levy (PDL) Fund to subsidize Diesel and Kerosene prices.

This adjustment is expected to trigger higher transport costs, increased food prices, and a rise in the general cost of living across the country.
