Policyholders Compensation Fund (PCF) is a State Corporation under the National Treasury and Economic Planning that was established under Section 179 of the Insurance Act (CAP 487) and operationalized through the Legal Notice No. 105 of 2004.

PCF Engages Boda Boda Riders on Insurance Compensation

PCF today held an interactive sensitization forum with Boda Boda riders. The session focused on raising awareness about the role of PCF in protecting policyholders in the event of an insurer's collapse.

This is part of PCF’s broader mission to promote financial literacy and ensure that all affected policyholders receive the compensation they are entitled to.

PCF is currently compensating claims from policyholders of Xplico Insurance, Invesco Assurance, Blue Shield Insurance, and United Insurance Company. Policyholders who have valid claims but are yet to lodge them are urged to do so through PCF.

The Fund remains committed to safeguarding the interests of policyholders and enhancing public trust in the insurance sector.

"In 2011 strong winds destroyed our greenhouses at Kenflora Limited farms in Kiambu County. The incident caused severe damage to the property. Luckily, we had insured with BlueShield Insurance. However, BlueShield Insurance collapsed the same year and we got worried that no one would compensate us. Early this year, we received a call from a PCF staff asking us whether our claim was paid. PCF Powers Up Education with Solar Energy at Balambala Secondary School in Garissa County. This is part of its ongoing commitment to community empowerment and sustainable development. Through its CSR initiative, PCF sponsored and oversaw the installation of a 5Kv solar power system at the school. This has ensured continuous power supply in the school for lighting up classrooms, staffroom, dormitories and dining hall.
