Middle Ground by John Michaelson
There’s a middle ground I am seeking to find,
Where all humans are generous, loving and kind.
Living without judgement, petty gossip or hate,
I hope we can find it, before it’s too late.
There’s a middle ground I invite you to see.
Where all human beings are respected and free.
All weapons are extinct and borders dissolved,
Living as one peaceful unity, our problems resolved.
There’s a middle ground I want you to feel,
Where our world and its citizens start living for real.
Moving from their subconscious comas into the light,
Embracing their oneness, with no need to fight.
There’s a middle ground I am longing to touch,
Where our egos insecurities are no longer our crutch.
So we can roam free from conditioning and limited rules,
Our future no longer dictated by ignorant fools.
There’s a middle ground I am hoping we share,
Where every human soul wants to love and to care.
No longer held back by our past or our fears,
Or discriminated against for our tenure and years.
There’s a middle ground I believe we can teach,
Where sustainable harmony, is within our own reach.
Disparate archaic doctrines become a thing of our past,
Creating one unified community, with a real chance to last.
There’s a middle ground I hope we can learn,
Where we all feel complete and don’t need to earn.
Materialism and consumerism are no longer an addiction,
Our souls are reborn, our egos a fiction.
There’s a middle ground that I plead we achieve,
Where our dreams become real as we start to believe.
It’s like nothing you could imagine and yet it is true,
Which only exists because of actions from you.
There’s a middle ground I am craving to know,
Where are children are educated to shine and to grow.
Their next generation needs a better way to live,
Born into a world that knows only to give.
There’s a middle ground I conceive can be here,
We just need to live with ego and its dependence on fear.
