For decades, Maa leaders have been beneficiaries of Raila Odinga’s politics. From Kajiado, once proudly called his political bedroom, to Narok, Samburu, and Laikipia, the community has stood firmly with him through many elections. Raila was honored as a true Maa elder, embraced and celebrated in every campaign season.

Now, in his passing, silence from our leaders is loud and disappointing. Where are the delegations that once danced for him, the elders who blessed him, and the politicians who declared loyalty at every rally? This is the moment to show gratitude and respect to the man who walked with us politically and culturally.

The Maa leadership, Governor Joseph Ole Lenku, State House Comptroller Katoo Ole Metito, Narok Senator Ledama Ole Kina, and others should lead the community in paying tribute to Raila Odinga, the enigma who stood for justice, inclusion, and the voice of the marginalized. Let us not forget a friend who always stood with us when it mattered most.

We at Abujubuju TV , join the media fraternity in mourning the passing of veteran journalist Kurgat Marinday, who left us on 21st August 2025.

Kurgat was more than just a reporter — he was a gifted storyteller, dedicated, principled, and deeply committed to the truth. He served in leading media houses including The Standard Group, The Star, Daily Nation, BBC, and County Press, always carrying himself with integrity, curiosity, and passion.

To many of us, he was not only a colleague but also a mentor and friend. His guidance, humility, and fearless pursuit of facts shaped our path and inspired generations in the media industry.

Kurgat will be laid to rest on Saturday, 30th August 2025, at Kitale (Cherangany), Trans-Nzoia County.

Rest in peace, our mentor and friend. Your legacy lives on.
