INCASE YOU MISSED IT
When Diogo Jota arrived at Wolverhampton Wanderers in July 2017, it was clear that England had inherited one of Portugal’s finest young talents.
The diminutive forward was the Old Gold’s top scorer in his first season, spearheading their return to the Premier League, where he would delight English fans for the following seven years.
His versatility across the forward line over three seasons at Molineux was enough to convince Liverpool to make a move in 2020.
“My job is to find a way to score goals and to provide assists and that's what they can expect from me,” said Jota, after signing for the Reds.
And that’s exactly what he did: 47 goals and 14 assists across 123 Premier League appearances, with some incredible memories.
Only two months ago, with the number 20 on his back, he and Liverpool lifted top-flight title number 20 in front of a rapturous Anfield crowd.
Football has lost a champion and he will be forever missed.
