With all we have achieved it feels like more than 12 months have passed. Thanks to everyone who has helped us make this possible -
Robert our Kenyan Chair received a vocational service award from Rotary E Club One for his volunteer service
We ran Kenyan NGO Board Training with our Kenya staff and continued board training via the ACNC’s online training portals
We ran our annual trivia night to another sell out crowd thank you to all of you
We ran two first aid training sessions and attended St Johns Examinations as special guests. Thanks to Riverside Gardens Pharmacy
We worked with Days for girls to run two sessions of pad distributions one in Magadi and one in a slum of Nariobi called Kijiji
We saw two of our boys pass their driving tests
Bernard completed school and has had a number of painting job opportunities
Terrance completed his first year of cooking school and sat the Artisan Exams
Omar completed his first year of plumbing school and sat the NITA exams
Fundi went back to complete high school and did Form 1 and Form 2 in a condensed setting
Kevin has completed 5 day first aid training, he has started driving school and he has completed his care giver course.
We opened a laundry which Yassin and Shaban are working in - Shaban also completed his ICT course
Victoria visited Australia as well as many Rotary clubs and spoke at the Rotary District 9560 Conference
Jesse is just a few months away from completing his second year at KMTC
We ran our first ever leadership camp which ran for 4 days with 24 young men in attendance from Kariobangi.
Following that we ran follow up sessions with topics including HIV, policies/ Procedures and good conduct. We were also able to set up soccer training opportunities for the boys and had them play one game in Kitengela and another against a Premier League team.
Our gardens continued to have good harvest with vegetables distributed to school students and HIV patients in the holidays.
We did follow up with the hospital and our happy to report positive outcomes from our machine distribution last year.
We started work on our toilet project inside GK Prision
And last but not least we purchased a property.
