REFUSE TO BE FOOLISH

A lawyer sold his well to a teacher. Two days later, the lawyer came to the teacher and said, "Sir, I sold you the well, but it's not with the water inside! If you want to use the water, you will have to pay extra."

The teacher smiled and replied, "Yes, I was about to come to you. I was going to say that you should take your water from my well, or else you will have to start paying rent from tomorrow."

Hearing this, the lawyer got nervous and said, "Oh, I was just joking!"

The teacher laughed and said, "This is how people like you become lawyers after studying with us."

Salute to teachers🙏🙏

You finished university. You have the degree. Now you’re broke, bitter, and wondering why no one’s hiring.

Let me break it to you gently — then loudly: You are not alone.
The Kenyan and African job market is not hiring like that anymore.
And the “office job” fantasy you’ve been fed since Form 1? It’s outdated.

No one is queuing to hand out jobs to degree holders anymore.
Why?
Because employers want skill, not paper.
Because the world has changed — and we’re still stuck waiting for HELB clearance and an offer letter that’s not coming.

Some of you have marketable degrees but zero practical skills.
Others have useless degrees and no backup plan.
But most of you?
You’re sitting at home waiting — yet there’s work all around you.

Did you study electrical engineering? Start fixing things.
Did you study commerce? Help someone structure their business.
Did you do education? Tutor a student or teach online.
Can you write? Build a LinkedIn profile and freelance.
Can you cook? Start meal-prepping and selling online.
Can you design on Canva? Start a content business.

No one is saying you shouldn’t be proud of your degree. Be proud. Frame it. Show it to your parents.
But also… open your eyes. Hustle with dignity. Work with what’s in your hands.

And to parents — stop mocking your kids for “working in a café” after university.
It’s not about the title. It’s about growth.
Let them start somewhere.

If you don’t get a job, create work.
If you don’t have experience, build it.
If the door is closed, open a window. Or knock louder.

Kenya doesn’t owe you a job.
But you owe yourself a shot at survival.

“In a world of scarce jobs, your skill is your lifeline.
The degree is your history. The hustle is your future.” welcome to
Emurua Dikirr Technical Training Institute - EDTTI to get numerous skills in various courses. is smooth and real get skills my friends.

SON: "Daddy, may I ask you a question?"
DAD: "Yeah sure, what is it?"
SON: "Daddy, how much do you make an hour?"
DAD: "That's none of your business. Why do you ask such a thing?"
SON: "I just want to know. Please tell me, how much do you make an hour?"
DAD: "If you must know, I make $100 an hour."
SON: "Oh! (With his head down).
SON: "Daddy, may I please borrow $50?"
The father was furious.
DAD: "If the only reason you asked that is so you can borrow some money to buy a silly toy or some other nonsense, then you march yourself straight to your room and go to bed. Think about why you are being so selfish. I work hard everyday for such this childish behavior."

The little boy quietly went to his room and shut the door.
The man sat down and started to get even angrier about the little boy's questions. How dare he ask such questions only to get some money?
After about an hour or so, the man had calmed down, and started to think:
Maybe there was something he really needed to buy with that $ 50 and he really didn't ask for money very often. The man went to the door of the little boy's room and opened the door.

DAD: "Are you asleep, son?"

SON: "No daddy, I'm awake".
DAD: "I've been thinking, maybe I was too hard on you earlier. It's been a long day and I took out my aggravation on you. Here's the $50 you asked for."

The little boy sat straight up, smiling.
SON: "Oh, thank you daddy!"
Then, reaching under his pillow he pulled out some crumpled up bills. The man saw that the boy already had money, started to get angry again. The little boy slowly counted out his money, and then looked up at his father.

DAD: "Why do you want more money if you already have some?"

SON: "Because I didn't have enough, but now I do.

"Daddy, I have $100 now. Can I buy an hour of your time? Please come home early tomorrow. I would like to have dinner with you."
The father was crushed. He put his arms around his little son, and he begged for his forgiveness. It's just a short reminder to all of you working so hard in life. We should not let time slip through our fingers without having spent some time with those who really matter to us, those close to our hearts. Do remember to share that $100 worth of your time with someone you love? If we die tomorrow, the company that we are working for could easily replace us in a matter of days. But the family and friends we leave behind will feel the loss for the rest of their lives. And come to think of it, we pour ourselves more into work than to our family.

Some things are more important.
