MCA Sonko Stands as a Pillar of Compassion in the Ngemo Family Tragedy
Ikanga/Kyatune Ward MCA Sonko has once again shown the depth of his generosity and leadership, stepping forward to stand with the grieving family of Sammy Ngemo after their devastating loss. At a time when words often fall short, his presence and compassion offered a glimmer of comfort to a family enduring unimaginable pain. His actions demonstrated that true leadership is felt most deeply when a community is hurting.
With a warm heart and humility, MCA Sonko personally visited the bereaved family, extending not only his condolences but also financial support to ease the burden of burying their four loved ones. His gesture went beyond duty,it reflected a leader who genuinely cares for the people he serves.
Accompanied by his Ward assistant Nicholas Kivite, political coordinator Simon Mwanthi alias Kajiado, and loyal supporter Eng. Humphrey Mobutu, Sonko showed that unity and empathy are the pillars of strong community leadership.
The tragic accident in Ngoluni that claimed the lives of Ngemo’s daughter-in-law and three children shook the entire region. As the family grapples with this heartbreaking reality, the survival of the two boys; though seriously injured, adds emotional weight to an already painful situation. MCA Sonko’s outreach offered the family not only financial relief but emotional solidarity, reminding them that they are not alone during this dark moment.
Leaders across the county, including CO Gladys Kivoto, the Governor’s political advisor Mwangu Ivuti, and Queen Masila alias Mbinduke na ivinda, also joined in support. Yet it was MCA Sonko’s heartfelt compassion and swift generosity that stood out, reaffirming his reputation as a leader who shows up when it matters most. His actions have brought hope and strength to a family in mourning, and his kindness continues to inspire the entire Ikanga/Kyatune community.
