A teacher in Busia identified as Moses Ososo is facing serious allegations of sexually abusing children who were reportedly under his care.

According to claims circulating, the allegations allegedly came to light after Ososo reportedly sold a mobile phone containing videos showing how he was doing children bad things that he had allegedly failed to delete.

Ososo is also reported to have been involved in holiday tuition programmes and music activities, where he taught children how to play musical instruments.

A disturbing incident has reportedly been reported in Bumala, Busia County, where a 96-year-old woman is alleged to have been sexually assaulted and subsequently murdered.

According to preliminary reports, the elderly woman was allegedly subjected to a brutal attack, with acid reportedly poured on her body after the incident.

Authorities are expected to launch investigations to establish what happened, identify those responsible, and determine the circumstances that led to the woman’s death.

A meeting between Busia Governor Dr. Paul Otuoma and local content creators has sparked controversy following questions over the handling of the KSh 500,000 reportedly given to support the creators.
According to content creator Mc Musyoka, Governor Otuoma gave the group KSh 500,000, with the money intended to support artists and content creators for their work.

Musioka alleges that the funds were handed to the group’s treasurer, Teacher Collins, before MC Tonde, who had been selected as chairman of that particular meeting, allegedly took KSh 300,000, saying it would be used to purchase a camera..

Musioka is now questioning the whereabouts of the KSh 300,000 and how the proposed camera would benefit all the creators.

Gospel artist and pastor Vincent Onyango has died in a road accident, in a tragic incident that reportedly occurred on Tuesday night.
The 43-year-old singer, known for gospel hits including “Kaburi ni Tajiri” and “Wanadamu ni Walewale,” was travelling alone from Mombasa to Nairobi when his vehicle reportedly collided head-on with a lorry at Chumvi in Machakos.

He reportedly died at the scene, leaving behind six children. His death brings to an end a gospel music career that had earned him a following among fans across the country.

Police at Nambale Police Station in Busia County have launched investigations after a middle-aged man was found dead near his rented house in Nambale town.

The man, who reportedly worked as a casual labourer, including loading sugarcane onto tractors, was found by neighbours with several injuries. He is alleged to have been involved in a dispute with several people, including his wife, who reportedly went missing last night following the incident.

Traders in Busia County have raised concerns over inadequate infrastructure in several markets, saying poor lighting, limited access to water and lack of toilets are compromising their safety and exposing them to health risks.

The traders said insecurity was particularly worrying after dusk, with poor lighting leaving them vulnerable and putting their businesses and merchandise at risk. They also expressed concern over poor sanitation and the potential spread of diseases.

The traders spoke after receiving a visit from the Osiya Foundation, saying previous efforts to have the county government address the challenges had yielded little progress despite traders paying levies to conduct business.

The Osiya Foundation has since installed solar-powered lighting at Funyula Market and Nerobia Junction Market to improve security and working conditions.

Busia leadership has pledged Sh500,000 to support the organisation of content creators in the county as part of efforts to strengthen collaboration with the creative industry.
Speaking during an engagement with Busia content creators, Governor Dr. Paul Otuoma said young digital creators command large audiences that could be leveraged to promote the county’s development agenda, culture, businesses, investment and tourism.

Otuoma challenged content creators to move beyond traditional approaches to seeking opportunities and turn their creativity and digital influence into sustainable livelihoods.
He said his administration was committed to creating partnerships with the creative industry and providing an enabling environment for talent to contribute to Busia’s growth.
