UPDATE: President Ruto's Summary on State Of The Nation Address.
-Ruto cancels the contentious Adani deal; directs Energy and Transport ministries to stop the ongoing procurement process for JKIA expansion & KETRACO contract.
-Ruto urges all Kenyans with information about Extrajudicial killings, abductions & Femicides cases to forward the information to DCI and IPOA
-Government has successfully facilitated employment of 105,367 Kenyans in foreign countries since July last year.
-Sh3.7 billion to be disbursed tomorrow to pay 'historical debts' owed to public, private and faith-based medical facilities.
-Kenya's forex reserves have surged to hit a new record $ 9.4B, providing a 4.8-month import cover, the highest in 10 years.
-Government has procured and distributed 7 million bags of fertilizer to boost food production.
-The shilling has stabilized significantly, appreciating from Ksh 162 in Feb 2024 to Ksh 129 today. Inflation has declined from 9.6% in September 2022 to 2.7% in October this year, the lowest rate in 17 years.
-Tax revenues have grown by 11.5% in the year to June 2024, reflecting the success of our tax base expansion measures. We project 5% growth this year and 5.6% growth next year
-All 17 sugar factories across Kenya are now operational, producing at impressive levels. For the first time in recent history, Kenya is producing enough sugar to meet our local demand.
- The ministry of Health has established SHA and SHIF to ensure health challenges facing Kenyans are addressed.
-NHIF served a few salaried Kenyans who could afford to pay but Taifa Care covers every Kenyans regardless of employment or financials status.
-The government has hired 56,000 teachers and are in the process of recruiting 20,000 by January next year.
-The government has have ensured the seamless transition of learners from Primary to Junior Secondary and domiciled Grade 7, 8 and 9 in primary school, optimizing the use of existing infrastructure.
