The wind roared past my helmet as I leaned into another curve, the Swartberg Mountains towering around me like ancient sentinels. I never knew freedom could feel this raw, this alive. South Africa’s mountains, told their own story, carved by time and kissed by the sun. The winding roads tested my skill.

Every mile brought something new and the kind of silence you can only find in the wilderness. At times, I didn’t see another soul for hours—just us, the road, and the heartbeat of Africa.

This wasn’t just a ride; it was communion with a land that felt both untamed and welcoming.

The adventure has been great.

For the last 8 days I have been riding in Tanzania and my perspective of Tanzania has changed.

Tanzanians are really nice, everybody says hello. As a Nairobian, this is strange. I am used to people minding their own business and nobody cares about your day( za kwako?)

Is Tanzania this mountainous!
We rode from Namanga, slept at longido and rode to Moshi. We rode the Eastern part of Tanzania using Iringa rode. I loved the scenery, beautiful to the eyes.

I only had problems at the Kitonga Corners Mountain. On this particular day, we rode 438 km, and by the time we got to the corners it was getting dark. We had trucks and trailers going up and down the road at a speed of 8-9 kph and stopping from time to time.

Going upperhill on a loaded motorcycle on a slow speed is an underated skill. It is actually a sport!!! Tell me why my bike was going off and reversing and I am in the middle of tracks, on the edge is a deep valley!!!

I am still sharpening my skills on balance of clutch and gas while riding slow. On this day I panicked, sweat 💦😅 and I questioned my choices of starting my trip from Kenya to South Africa on motorcycle.

Kumbe that is what you guys meet that you function under pressure 🤔..... Count me out of anything to do with pressure my guys coz for this year , I can only handle pressure and stress from my Bike,Kaende Kaende.

Anyway, let the adventure continue

Leffe and I have a plan to ride our motorcycle from Kenya to South Africa.

I started training to ride in December and by February we were riding down to Tanzania. So far so good, the road has taught me resilience and focus.

Can't wait to see what lies ahead
