UPDATE: Azimio leader Raila Odinga faults the Supreme Court over its ruling on registration of LGBTQ groups.

Raila references Article 45 of the Constitution which directs that every Kenyan has a right to marry of the opposite gender provided there is consent between the two parties.

He criticises the Supreme Court for contravening the laws by making a law- a mandate which falls on Parliament.

Raila notes that the apex Court ought to have directed the matter to Parliament which is mandated to enact or amend laws

KEWOTA SUPPORTS MOBILE PHONES IN SCHOOLS

Times have changed and mobile phones can no longer be ignored in our daily lives.

One of the reasons why mobile phones have been discouraged in schools is because they are perceived to interfere with learning of students.

However, times have changed, most assignments are now accessible via mobile phones.

"It is a matter whose time has come. Kewota stands for an age appropriate mobile phones in schools as part of digital enabling for end to end learning. What needs to happen is that companies should now bring into the market appropriate phones much like we have textbooks for learners in each grade, " KEWOTA CEO Benta Opande.

Opande was echoing the sentiments of the Chairman of Kenya Secondary School Heads Association Indimuli Kahi who, on Saturday, while addressing KEWOTA members at the launch of KEWOTA Shared Services, urged the government to review its policy on mobile phones in schools.
