Today’s reality check 👇🏽
A tech client asked us to create a social media strategy, Then said: we won’t need you to run it, we’re building an AI agent to execute.
My first thought- oof!!! 😳
My second? This is exactly the shift I’ve been talking about.
The lesson? Clear and urgent:
If the doing can be automated, our value must shift to the thinking.

Our role as PR pros within such a dynamic tech space is to architect intelligence and begin to really think about how to disrupt how PR is done.
Here’s a bit of what I shared;
1. The most successful agencies will have PR strategists working alongside engineers, data scientists, and UX designers. Together, they’ll build proprietary tools for sentiment tracking, immersive digital experiences, and real-time engagement.
2. We can apply the same successful model we use with micro-influencers to citizen journalists.
It’s not about seeing them as a threat, it’s about mapping, vetting, and collaborating.
3. We’ll see a rising demand for communicators with specialist backgrounds such as climate change, policy analysis, financial markets, professionals who can navigate complex industries with precision, translate technical nuance into public understanding, and build trust in highly regulated or rapidly evolving spaces
