Many can relate to this:

You leave your job because you have a brilliant business idea. You might have some money stashed away, but not enough to hire staff. You figure you'll bootstrap it as you go along, and hire as you make money.

A year or two later, solopreneur burnout starts to hit. You realise it's lonely work, doing it all by yourself. Business doesn't pick up as fast as you thought it would, partly because you have no one to brainstorm or create with. And your funds are running out. This is when you start cleaning up your CV and going back into the job market.

Violette Nduku Wambua, founder and CEO of the popular networking platform Networking in Heels, is very familiar with all of this. She founded and ran this networking event for a few years... until the stress of doing it by herself caused her to nearly give it up.

Ten years later, Networking In Heels is back, bigger and stronger... but not without Violette learning a few hard lessons along the way - including why an should give their business 100% of their focus instead of making it a side-hustle.
