Why I Believe in Giving Back – A Personal Appeal
My name is Deng Garang Bul. I am the CEO and Founder of Integrated Help and Opportunities for Peaceful Existence-iHOPE Incorporated.
Today, I want to share a personal story — because iHOPE Inc exists not as an idea, but as a lived experience.
Many years ago, my life was changed by the kindness of one person: Doris Lempenuer, an aid worker who believed in me when I was just a young man with dreams bigger than my circumstances. Doris supported my education in Kenya and later helped sponsor my migration expenses to Australia. Without her belief, generosity, and commitment, I would not be where I am today.
That support was more than money.
It was hope.
It was dignity.
It was the chance to build a future through education.
iHOPE Incorporated was created to pass that gift forward.
Every day, we support children and young people who are facing hardship — paying school fees, providing uniforms and learning materials, and helping families access basic health and education needs. Many of these young people are just like I once was: capable, determined, but blocked by circumstances beyond their control.
This is why I am asking you to consider becoming part of our journey.
