Are you a researcher, journalist, academic, policymaker, peacebuilder, humanitarian practitioner, or media professional with innovative ideas on protecting journalists and strengthening peace through responsible media?

The 𝐆𝐥𝐨𝐛𝐚𝐥 𝐏𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐏𝐞𝐚𝐜𝐞 𝐒𝐮𝐦𝐦𝐢𝐭 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔 invites the submission of original research papers, policy papers, case studies, and abstracts under the theme:

Join leading journalists, war correspondents, scholars, governments, UN agencies, media organizations, and peace actors from around the world in shaping global dialogue and policy on press freedom, journalist safety, humanitarian response systems, digital security, media resilience, and conflict-sensitive journalism.

On Tuesday, 14 July 2026, Infonile Communications successfully held a consultative meeting with the Department of Diplomacy and International Studies, the Department of Journalism and Media Studies, and the Departments of Human Rights and Law at the University of Nairobi. The meeting focused on planning and preparations for the anticipated Global Press Peace Summit, which is scheduled to take place in November 2026 at the University of Nairobi.

The consultative session was attended by Professor Patrick Maluki, Professor Silas Odongo, Mr. Erick Wanjala, and Mr. Bill Otieno, alongside other university and organizational officials. Participants discussed key areas of collaboration and coordination to ensure the successful organization of the summit, which is expected to bring together media professionals, policymakers, academics, and peace advocates from across the globe.

Key Responsibilities

As a Volunteer Continental Coordinator, you will:

Mobilize journalists, editors, photographers, freelancers, fixers, media organizations, humanitarian agencies, and aid workers within your region.
Promote participation in the Global Baseline Survey on the Safety of Journalists and Humanitarian Workers.
Encourage registration for the Global Press Peace Summit 2026.
Build partnerships with universities, media associations, NGOs, humanitarian organizations, and professional networks.
Coordinate regional outreach campaigns and information sessions.
Identify and recruit volunteer country coordinators where needed.
Support communication between the Summit Secretariat and regional participants.
