Each year, 20 June marks World Refugee Day, the international day to sympathise with those who had no choice but to flee.
The Kakuma refugee camp, established in 1992, was originally built to provide the “Lost Boys of Sudan” with , and today approximately 306,414 people from various countries have found refuge in , Kenya.
Refugee children and families fleeing conflict need safe spaces to learn and grow, UNICEF plays a major role in this fulfilment along side external sponsorships and refugees themselves.
The theme for 2025 is “Solidarity with Refugees,” with the focus being what solidarity really means, not just in words but action. At T-SHA films we have displayed solidarity within our teachings, our collaboration with other (Refugee Led Organisations) and , as well as our film productions.
Together, we can defend our safety and advocate for solutions to our predicament.
